  • "I'm gonna give you a piece of my mind." Right before Eddie's transformation, he pulls part of his brain out through a bullet hole in his head.
  • The werewolves themselves (in the films without Special Effects Failure, namely the first and sixth ones) are most certainly not pretty sights. The fact they are often evil people who still have control over themselves leads to a lot of It Can Think moments. Eddie Quist isn't a mindless predator, he's a super powered serial killer.
  • The scream Karen unleashes before she transforms.
  • What lycanthropy does to someone. It's not a a gift, but an obvious curse. Bill goes from a devoted vegetarian who, while obviously considering Marcia Quist attractive, is faithful to his wife to scarfing down meat, engaging in adultery, and even slapping Karen when she brings up her suspicions between the two.
  • While the manner of Richard's transformation to a werewolf in the fourth film is so bizarrely off-the-wall that it almost comes across as comical, it's hard to deny that the effects are gruesomely effective in depicting Richard's flesh liquefying and dropping off his bones, before the flesh of a werewolf forms around his skeleton.
