Nightmare Fuel / Mortal Kombat 3

• Sheeva's fatality. She strips you to the bone, skin first, with a blood-curdling scream.
• Cyrax's ending has him stuck in the desert, buried up to his waist, fully functional but unable to move.
• A lot of the imagery surrounding Outworld's merging with Earth is pretty nightmarish, especially the blood red vortex above Kahn's tower.
  • One particular scene during the opening prologue shows Shao Kahn stealing the souls of everyone on Earth. Complete with a disturbing green glow for each person.
• Kabal's fatality, in which he screams at the screen, showing his horrifying true face, and then literally scares the foe to death. The Mortal Kombat Trilogy version has a much nightmarish sounding scream, and when he screams at the screen, his head was a little closer. It’s even made a return in Mortal Kombat 11 as one of Kabal’s Brutalities.
  • There was another one called the Balloon Fatality, in which Kabal pumps his opponents head up with air until the opponent floats up in the air and explodes. It looks like their eyes are going to pop out!
