The Boyz is a South Korean boy band that debuted on December 6, 2017 with the song Boy. They were formed by Cre.ker Entertainment. They originally debuted with twelve members, but became eleven following Hwall's departure on 23 October 2019.

• Alliterative Name: Choi Chanhee and Heo Hyunjoon.
• Animal Motifs: Q is called a giraffe or alpaca.
• Ascended Extra:
  • Kim Younghoon featured in IOI’s "Whatta Man".
  • Younghoon, Hyunjae, Hwall and Eric starred in Melody Day's Color MV.
  • Sangyeon, Haknyeon, Hyunjae and Juyeon are featured in Melody Day's You Seem Busy MV.
• Attractive Bent-Gender: Sangyeon dressed as a lady once. The verdict? He looked beautiful.
• The Baby of the Bunch: Maknae Eric.
• Big Eater: A lot of them are foodies, but Ju Haknyeon stands out.
  • Haknyeon is a non-picky eater, but the ones who can eat a lot within a short time are Hyunjae and surprisingly, New.
• Bilingual Bonus: Quite a few of the members have lived abroad and speak excellent English. Juyeon also speaks Japanese. Ju Haknyeon also speaks Mandarin and Cantonese.

• Butt-Monkey: Poor Chanhee. Examples include: Members tricking him by deliberately not choosing the team led by him, being dissed for not being "smart and quick", being accused that he's the mafia no matter what in both times of their mafia games.
• Camping Episode: At least for those who lost at Rock-Paper-Scissors. The others can sleep inside in two rooms of varying comfort.
• Career-Ending Injury: Kind of. While Hwall's injury on his ankle didn't directly make him completely unable to perform, the fact that his injury comes back once in a while and making him unable to go 100% bothers him, which finally leads to him quitting because he felt burdened and guilty for not being able to do his best.

• Catchphrase: Q's "Ready~Cue!"

• Ditto Fighter: Q is good at copying dances from dance videos. This to the point that he's called a vending machine for songs.
• Family of Choice: Some of them have already said that they feel like a family since they're living together.
• Fanboy:

• Juyeon is a big fan of Yunho, a member of TVXQ!. Juyeon even cried upon meeting him.
• Kevin is a huge fan of Beyonce. He even talked to her on directly on camera in Come on! The Boyz.

• Genre Savvy: On at least one occasion during a game, Eric figured out one of the members was hiding in the underbrush because he saw a cameraman, seemingly filming nothing.
• Good with Numbers: New is very gifted when it comes to maths.

• ISO-Standard Urban Groceries: Averted when Kevin and Juyeon go shopping. They quickly divert from their grocery list to start buying random things that have a 3 for 2 discount offer.

• Mood Whiplash: In the first episode of the Flower Snack, they're all happily cooking. Then Sangyeon gathers them all together and starts crying. He tells them that Juyeon has a virus and has to be checked more thoroughly at the hospital.
• Named After Somebody Famous: Guess who was named after a Home Alone character.
• The Needs of the Many: Averted. Juyeon is more worried about the other guys still being able to do their reality show than the fact that a check-up revealed he has a virus and needs to be checked further. The other guys disagree and say it would be meaningless without him. It turns out that it was a prank.

• Perpetual Smiler: The corners of Juyeon's mouth point upwards. He sees it as a strong point.

• Power Trio: Hyunjae, Younghoon and Juyeon are the 'Visual Bermuda'. Though it's pointed out on Idol Room that they all look handsome.
• Punny Names: Their names are not necessarily punny...until they decided to use puns to introduce themselves.
  • Hyunjae's name has a similar pronunciation as "present" (as in time), and he introduces himself as a gift.
  • Sunwoo introduces himself as the "sun"shine.
  • Kevin introduces himself as having moonlight sensitivity, a pun based on his surname Moon.
  • Juyeon's and Sangyeon's names are pronounced similarly to "main cast" and "imagination" respectively.
  • Q is a pun of "cue".
  • New introduces himself as the new guy.
  • Hwall means "arrow", and he introduces himself with his signature "shoot an arrow" action.

• Real Men Wear Pink: Eric likes pink because he thinks pink is a manly color as not everyone can wear it well.

• Running Gag:
  • Kevin's "Can I get a hoya?"
  • Chanhee, Changmin and Younghoon changing Red Velvet's Peek-a-Boo into Kevin Moon.
  Kevin Moon, it's Kevin only when my heart flutters.
  • Fans tease Sangyeon about how bad he is at the mafia game.
  • Kevin is known for twerking whenever the chance arises for him to do so, much to the chagrin of his members. He's even requested a fan for a compilation video!
• Super Gullible: Juyeon, which is why he's the victim of the virus prank. Averted with Q, who sees right through it, since he doesn't believe in a virus with symptoms like stuttering. New also didn't believe it, as he didn't think Sangyeon is the type to cry.
• Tall, Dark, and Handsome: Juyeon, but according to Q he is also kind and innocent, which usually doesn't go with this trope. On top of that, Sunwoo said Juyeon is that guy who dies first in a horror movie.

    • He's associated with bread so much that his nickname is "Bbang-Hoon", or "Bread-Hoon".

• Voice Changeling: Younghoon can sound exactly like a motorcycle engine, amongst other things.
• Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Jacob does not like horror movies.
