There's definitely misogyny in these songs, but it's going a little far to say they were intended to have a "message"

** "If I Needed Someone" is in the style of Music/TheByrds. (George, by his own admission, took his guitar riff from their version of "The Bells of Rhymney".)
** "Nowhere Man" was inspired by The Byrds' rendition of "Mr. Tambourine Man."

** "Run For Your Life". At its heart, the message of this song is that if you decide to end a relationship with the singer, he will hunt you down and murder you. As with the earlier "[[Music/AHardDaysNight You Can't Do That]]", Lennon later regarded this song as an OldShame.
** "Norwegian Wood" implies (and [=McCartney=] has confirmed that this was the intention) that if a woman invites you into her home and doesn't sleep with you, [[KillItWithFire burning the place down]] after she leaves for work the next morning [[DisproportionateRetribution is a reasonable response]]. It's probably worth noting that this was intended to be Lennon's way of writing about an affair without arousing the suspicions of his then-wife Cynthia.

* BilingualRhyme: The GratuitousFrench in "Michelle" gets rhymed with English at the beginning of the song. The following appearances of the hook use a French translation of the English line, which also rhymes.
-->Michelle, ma belle[[note]]my beauty[[/note]]
-->These are words that go together well
