Roseanne Park / Park Chae-young (Korean: 로제; born February 11, 1997), known professionally as Rosé, is a New Zealand and South Korean singer best known for being a member of the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK. In March 2021, Rosé became the second Blackpink member to have a solo debut (after Jennie Kim in 2018). She released the single album -R- with the songs "On the Ground" and "Gone".
In 2024, Rosé became the first female artist in the Korean Pop Music industry to make the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 by collaborating with Bruno Mars on "Apt." from her first solo full album Rosie. "Apt." peaked at number 3 in 2025 and became the fastest video by a Korean artist to reach one billion views on YouTube.
Rosie was released on December 6, 2024. Her solo work has a slight rock feel and is almost entirely in English, with many songs having themes of breakups, toxic relationships, and unrequited love. Charting at #3 on the Billboard 200, Rosie made Rosé the first female soloist in the industry to make the top three and only the fifth to make the chart at all (after BoA and TWICE members Nayeon, Jihyo, and Tzuyu).

Just trope me at the apt.:
- all lowercase letters: The title of Rosie and all but one of its tracks ("APT.") are stylized in all-lowercase.
- Anaphora: "Tell me" in the verses of "number one girl""Tell me that I'm special
Tell me I look pretty
Tell me I'm a little angel" - Bottle Episode: "APT." has just Rosé and Bruno Mars playing around in a pink room with a few scattered props, while follow-up MV "number one girl" is self-directed and has her be the only person on screen in a skatepark and on a bridge in her city at night. The more cinematic "toxic till the end" MV makes up for both of them despite also having a Minimalist Cast.
- Break-Up Song:
- "Gone" is about being on the receiving end of a nasty breakup.
- Breakups are a recurring theme on Rosie.
- Breather Episode: "APT." is the token fun song on an album full of breakup songs and Destructive Romance songs.
- Call-Back: "dance all night" references BLACKPINK's "Forever Young""Just promise me you'll stay forever young"
- Celebrity is Overrated: "On the Ground""It's funny when you want it, and suddenly you have it, you find out that your gold's just plastic."
- Concept Album: Rosie is a loose one about breakups, toxic relationships, and unrequited love. The playful "APT." seems like the oddball, but it could still be put in the latter category.
- Destructive Romance: A recurring theme in Rosie, as "toxic till the end" pretty much spells out with her accusing him of being manipulative and "wasting her prettiest years", which leads to her violently lashing out at him in the music video. "stay a little longer" also has her pleading with her departing ex to stay with her just so she could be vindicated about her suspicions of him being no good ("Make me want to hate you / So I don't have to miss you"). Rosé knows this is problematic, yet she struggles to move on.
- Face on the Cover: Rosie has Rosé lying down with her head turned toward the camera.
- Lonely at the Top: "On the Ground""I'm way up in the clouds
And they say I've made it now
But I figured it out
Everything I need is on the ground
Just drove by your house
So far from you now
But I figured it out" - Minimalist Cast: Rosé is the only person on screen in both of her -R- videos and "number one girl". "APT." naturally also includes Bruno Mars. "toxic till the end" is just her and the ex.
- Offstage Villainy: The ex in the "toxic till the end" video. The song accuses him of being a Manipulative Bastard and describes his "wasting" her prettiest years as an unforgivable transgression, yet the video never shows him doing anything to warrant her violent retaliation.
- Product Placement: Rosé endorses the jewelry brand Tiffany and Co. and identifies not returning her Tiffany rings as one of the ex's transgressions in "toxic till the end".
- Seduction Lyric: "APT" is an upbeat song in which both singers invite each other for a fun time at the titular apartment.Don't you want me like I want you, baby?
Don't you need me like I need you now?
Sleep tomorrow, but tonight go crazy
All you gotta do is just meet me at the
APT - Self-Referential Track Placement:
- "number one girl" is the first song on Rosie.
- Averted with "two years" and "3am", the third and second songs on the album, respectively.
- Self-Titled Album: Rosie sounds close to Rosé.
- Special Guest: Bruno Mars in "APT."
- Singer Namedrop: Rosé introduces herself as Chaeyoung (her Korean name) in Korean at the beginning of "APT.".
- Stepford Smiler: "dance all night" is about hiding sorrows."I would dance all night
Not care about the heartache in my life" - Time Title: "3am""When it's 3am, I'm losing myself and my mind again"
- Torch Song: Unrequited love is another recurring theme in Rosie.
- "number one girl" has her begging to be seen as the perfect girl to her love interest."What's it gon' take for you to want me?"
- "two years" is about struggling to move on from a relationship two years after it ended, which has negative impacts on her subsequent relationships.
- "number one girl" has her begging to be seen as the perfect girl to her love interest.
- All my tropes are gone.
