Propagandhi (Music)
Propagandhi is a Canadian Punk Rock and metal band from Manitoba.

They formed in 1986 and released their debut album in 1993.

Discography:

  • How to Clean Everything (1993)
  • Less Talk, More Rock (1996)
  • Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes (2001)
  • Potemkin City Limits (2005)
  • Supporting Caste (2009)
  • Failed States (2012)
  • Victory Lap (2017)
  • At Peace (2025)

How to Trope Everything:

  • Cluster F-Bomb: Many of their songs tend to be foul-mouthed, such as "Stick the Fucking Flag Up Your Goddamn Ass, You Sonofabitch".
  • Heavy Meta: "Ska Sucks" is a ska song about what a stupid movement ska is.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Human(e) Meat (The Flensing of Sandor Katz) is a satirical vegan response to some of the writings of the culinary author Sandor Katz. It's about eating him.
  • Miniscule Rocking: "Ska Sucks" is 1:50.
  • Portmantitle: Their name is a mix of propaganda and Gandhi.
  • Protest Song: Many of their songs, mainly focusing on human rights violations, sexism, racism, nationalism, homophobia, imperialism, capitalism and organized religion.
  • Shout-Out: The outro of "At Peace" quotes "Lovers in a Dangerous Time" by Bruce Cockburn.
"Nothing worth having comes without some kind of fight. Gotta kick at the darkness til it bleeds daylight."
  • Take That!: "Ska Sucks" unsurprisingly lambasts Ska Punk bands, brushing them off as trend chasers.
