Play Hard (Music)
“Play Hard” is a song by David Guetta featuring Akon and Ne-Yo. It became a chart success and was played on the radio often. It was included on Nothing But The Beat 2.0, on the Ultimate Edition of the album. The music video for the song takes place in a house near a neighborhood, where two gangsters obtain cowboy boots to use in a boot dancing competition, and the house of where the party begins is full of wacky antics.

We trope hard! Play hard! We trope hard! Play hard! Keep troping like it’s your job!

  • Dance Party Ending: In the video, eventually, a young boy joins in eating Takis and wins the boot dance competition at the rodeo stadium.
  • Product Placement: Takis, which is what the boy who wins the dance competition at the end was eating when he arrives.
  • Sampling: So as it seems, "playing hard" means you’re better off alone.
  • Three Minutes of Writhing: There is some twerking all over the house and during the boot-off.
  • Surreal Music Video: The video is one. There are zany antics all over the gangster's house at the beginning which start with poodles, twerking girls, cowboys, old ladies with facial masks, Ne-Yo having money pancakes, and David Guetta himself getting a tattoo in a massive parlor upstairs.
