Go To

Human Nature are an Australian harmony pop quartet, formed in 1989 by schoolmates Andrew and Michael Tierney, Phil Burton and Toby Allen. Originally a Doo-wop group called the 4 Trax, they changed to Human Nature in 1995 and released their first album two years later.

Discography

Human Nature's music contains examples of:

  • Break-Up Song:
    • "Don't Say Goodbye" is the "Please Don't Go" variant ("There's no reason why/this part of us should die./Don't say goodbye.")
    • "Last to Know" is the "Teetering On The Brink Of A Breakup" variant ("I don't know why I keep hanging on/even love's got the message, and it's already gone./Tell me why/am I always the last to know?")
    • "Wishes" is the "I Blew It, I Regret It, But It's Too Late to Apologize" variant. ("Sometimes I wish that I could turn back time/I'd kick myself 'cause I was way out of line.")
    • "He Don't Love You" and "Whisper Your Name" are the "Attempting To Convince Someone To Breakup With Their Partner" variant. Notably, where the former presents her partner as mistreating her and borderline abusive, the latter presents her as unfaithful.
  • Cover Album: The three Motown albums, the two Jukebox albums, Vegas, The Christmas Album and about half of A Symphony of Hits.
  • Cover Version: Several, even on the ones that aren't Cover Albums. "Eternal Flame" and "People Get Ready" are the best known, while Here and Now has "Sign Your Name".
  • Greatest Hits Album: Here and Now and The Essential Human Nature and about half of A Symphony of Hits.
  • Intercourse with You: "Got it Going On" and possibly "Telling Everybody" (it's a little ambiguous just what they did last night).
