Cause you had a bad day!
Daniel Powter is a Canadian singer/songwriter who is known for his song "Bad Day" which charted worldwide and was featured in media around 2006.

You had a bad trope, the TV don't lie:

  • The Jailbait Wait: Inverted in "Birthday Suits," where the singer himself just turned 18 and is excited to have sex for the first time.
  • Lyrical Dissonance: "Bad Day" is about the singer recalling all the bad days they've had, but the song is upbeat and happy.
  • Missed Him by That Much: In the video for "Bad Day", at first the guy and woman don't see each other but then at the end they do.
  • Stepford Smiler: In "Bad Day"
"You're faking a smile with the coffee to-go."
  • Umbrella of Togetherness: In the video for "Bad Day" the man puts the girl under his umbrella when they board a taxi cab back home, finally meeting each other for the first time.
