Go back to the scale here.
- 100 Feet (2008) note It sits on this level because of Joey's brutal death
- 127 Hours (2010) note Due to the arm's amputation scene
- 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016) note Bodies gorily shot in half. Gorily mangled arm.
- 28 Weeks Later (2007) note Gory headshots, zombies gorily chopped up by helicopter blades, bed-ridden victim has their throat bitten out and their eyes gouged.
- 3 from Hell (2019) note A woman has her face peeled off; offscreen, but the graphic result is seen. Otherwise a hard 7.
- 30 Days of Night (2007) note Body graphically sawn in half. Head gorily punched through, another blasted in half. Man has neck bloodily bitten, hand bloodily severed offscreen, and is then graphically decapitated. Gory mutilated dogs.
- 300: Rise of an Empire (2014) note Copiously bloody, repeated dismemberment, slashing and impalement; including innocent Athenian citizens. Face smashed, prisoner has their throat cut before having their head torn off with gallons of blood etc. Violence against Athenians is particularly graphic due to lack of armor and graphic body damage seen. All blood is CGI.
- 31 (2016) note Gory chainsawing, etc.
- The 51st State (2001, AKA Formula 51) note For The Lizard's High-Pressure Blood Gibbing death. The gunshots are on level 7-8.
- Two Thousand Maniacs! (1964) note Woman's thumb is bloodily cut off, and then the rest of her arm is severed and cooked. Otherwise an 8 for fairly bloody, sadistic violence to helpless victims that's tame by today's standards; including a graphic severed arm from an offscreen horse tearing, a man put in a barrel full of nails and rolled down a cliff (we see him very bloodied after), and a bound woman crushed by rock (pretty bloody but no gore).
- The Abyss (1989) note For the NTIs’ strictly visual "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Bud in the Special Edition, containing disturbing real-life news footage of human atrocities, including an onscreen decapitation. However, the images are somewhat grainy and out of focus, presented in a clearly fantastical way, and are quickly cut, preventing this from hitting a 10. Nonetheless, rare for a PG-13 movie. Otherwise, level 7 (where the theatrical version sits) for a man cutting his wrist bloodily with a knife, some bloody underwater hand-to-hand combat, brief and undetailed depiction of drowned corpses, and an unsettling scene where a rat appears to be drowning, but is actually breathing in an experimental liquid that can replace air; the rat survives, however.

- An American Werewolf in London (1981) note For the gory aftermaths of werewolf attacks, including Jack's slowly decomposing body throughout.
- Angel Heart (1987) note A very hard 9, only kept from a 10 by its surreal presentation and dated special effects. Two characters have sex while a room fills with blood, intercut with a graphic murder scene (which initially led to an X rating). A real chicken has its throat slit for a Voodoo ritual. Multiple grisly deaths shown after the fact, including (in order of most-least severity) a woman shot through the vagina, a woman’s heart being cut out, a man shot through the eye, some throat slittings, and a man falling in a vat of boiling gumbo.
- Anna and the Apocalypse (2018) note Gory zombie victims, etc.
- Audition (1999) note An incapacitated man is sadistically tortured by having his foot cut off with piano wire; most of the process is offscreen, but there are two graphic shots of the wire cutting through the leg (comparable to the foot cutting scene in the first Saw). The foot is later seen as it is thrown away; the stump isn't directly seen. Otherwise level 8. The censored R-rated version is an 8, since the severing of the foot is merely implied.

Other level 8 violence and gore throughout, including an operation where a deep leg wound is cauterized, a close up of a zebra corpse, and lead character Nate fighting the lion hand to hand, with wounds inflicted on both parties, and the lion later getting attacked and implicitly ripped apart by a tribe of other lions.
- Beasts of No Nation (2015) note For a brutal rape that ends with a very graphic shot to the head; and the victim's toddler is then stomped to death partially onscreen. Other level 8 violence such as a hostage brutally sliced in the face with a machete twice and graphic shootings.
- Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012) note For a very gory dog corpse that's lingered on for a while. Rare for a PG-13 movie. Otherwise a 4 for perilous sequences involving small children and some blood on a woman's leg after shooting an alligator offscreen.
- Beau Is Afraid (2023) note For a man falling on a machine gun and shooting himself dozens of times on his shoulder, as well as someone behind him, resulting in torrential gibs and bloodletting; a man getting graphically impaled through his skull by the appendage of a giant penis-shaped monster; and a man falling on a rock from a platform many stories above, and brief sight of his skull being split in half. Other level 8 violence including other bloody shootings and stabbings, close-up of resulting wounds, a corpse being driven over by a car, eye gouging, sight of a corpse of a teen girl who drank paint, with bloodshot eyes, etc.

- Hellraiser: Inferno (2000) note A man gets whipped offscreen with a hooked whip; his skinned back is graphically shown afterward. A frozen woman and young girl shatter to gory pieces. A man has his head skinned by hooks in a blurry shot.
- High Tension (2003) note Head shoved between railing and then gorily decapitated. Character has throat brutally slit and hand carved off. Character bloodily sliced multiple times with a cement saw. Implied fallation with gory severed head.
- The Hills Have Eyes (1977) (1977) note A real disemboweled dead dog is briefly, but graphically seen. Otherwise level 8.
- The Hills Have Eyes (2006) (2006) note Gory obliterated heads, gory dismembered bodies, gutted dog, repeated brutal bloody trauma to villains, bound character graphically burned alive.
- The Hitcher (Remake) (2007) note Body bound to two trucks and graphically torn in half (not much guts spilling though). Gory head wound (dog shown lapping up viscera).
- Hitman (2007) note Unrated version. Explosive semi head obliteration. Bound victim's arm bloodily chopped off; the victim then implodes. Many characters riddled with many gooey squibs. Very messy headshots.
- Hood of Horror (2006)

- The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (2009) note Three people are sedated and stitched anus-to-mouth: The surgery is largely implied, however very graphic detail is briefly seen of a woman's buttock being cut into and the bloody tissue being pulled away. The second half of the film mainly consists of prolonged physical (although not graphic or gory) and psychological torture of the people in the centipede; the infamous defecation scene is largely implied, no fecal matter is seen. Additionally, a man very graphically tears a piece of another man's throat out with his teeth.
- The Hunt (2020) (2020) note Heads and bodies gorily gibbed and torn in half. Man is bloodily stabbed in the neck and then has their eye stabbed out.

- Ice Spiders (2007) note Gory bodies.
- Ichi the Killer (2001) note A man is vertically sliced in half in gory fashion (cartoonish CG gore). Another man has the skin on his hand bitten off. Later the same man has his arm graphically torn off while restrained to a chair. Gory mutilated bodies are seen a few times, including a room full of them. The over-the-top tone lessens the impact of these scenes a bit. Otherwise level 8.
- Immaculate (2024) note A compound leg fracture and live burial, heads gorily obliterated on two occasions (borderline 10, but shown briefly enough for a 9), a woman getting her tongue cut off while restrained to a chair, and a woman giving birth, cutting her own umbilical cord with her teeth, and (implicitly) killing her baby with a stone, cutting away before any mutilation occurs. Other level 8 violence and gore including a fingernail being pulled off, a man slicing the stomach of a pregnant woman, sight of dead birds, a woman being branded on her feet with a cross shaped poker, etc.
- Immortals (2011) note Gory slo-mo slicing, and head explosions.
- In the Cut (2003) note Several very graphic moments of crime scene gore: a photo of a woman's hideously mangled head, discovery of chopped body parts stuffed in a washing machine and a massive quantity of blood running out of the washing machine when a detective opens the door (borderline 10), a severed head in a plastic bag, and a dream sequence where a woman’s legs are graphically sliced with ice skates.
- Inglourious Basterds (2009) note Corpses are very graphically scalped, Hitler is shot an absurd amount of times in the body and head until he's practically mush (though it cuts shortly after the hard gore starts). Generally more realistic brutal violence than other Quentin Tarantino films, such as the repeated battering of a captive Nazi (only somewhat bloody but the pained reactions are horrifying), an incredibly detailed swastika carving of Landa's forehead as the ultimate humiliation, graphic shootings including several to a crotch, bystanders caught in crossfire, and an entire fist shoved down a sleeping Nazi's throat. Other lesser violence including semi-graphic shootings, throat cuttings, and stabbings.
- Initiation: Silent Night, Deadly Night 4 (1990)
- Intruder (1989) note Live head sawn in half (it looks very fake though). Another crushed by hydraulic press (brief). A body is seen diced into several pieces. A very brutal and bloody eye mutilation. Other level 8 mutilations tinged with black comedy.

- Ivan's Childhood (1962) note It rates this high mainly for the brief real footage of Joseph Goebbels' charred corpse as well his poisoned children.
- Jabberwocky (1977)note Here for the first two victims of the titular monster, who barring their heads, hands and feet are stripped to the bloody bones, and unlike the rest of the movie it is not played particularly comedically. Otherwise 7 for fairly light-hearted dismemberment and a blow that partially splits a man open from shoulder to ribs.
- Jacob's Ladder (1990) note Here predominantly for some war violence that’s far too grisly for an 8, including mangled limbs, corpses with half-obliterated faces, and sight of a man being bayoneted in the stomach, and a scene in a hospital room where cut-up organs are briefly seen amidst an extremely bloody mess. Otherwise, 7-8 for some less bloody shootings and some unsettling moments of Body Horror.
- Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993) [both versions] note A man melts alive in a very gory and graphic fashion; his jaw separates and his guts fall out, among other things (gets close to a 10, brief enough for a 9). Jason is very graphically blown to gory pieces. A woman is very graphically sliced in half (offscreen in the theatrical version); visible gore (not in theatrical version) and a lot of spraying blood. A man's arm is very graphically broken, the bloody bone sticks out (looks unrealistic, though).
- Jason X (2001) note Face frozen and then gorily obliterated. Gory slicing in half. Jason getting shot to shit towards the end would qualify for a 10 if it weren't for the miscolored blood and, well... Jason being Jason and immediately coming back as a motherfucking Terminator thanks to the power of NANOMACHINES SON!
- Jaws 3-D (1983) note For the gory corpse of a shark attack victim. Incredibly rare for a PG-rated film.
- Jennifer's Body (2009) note For the aftermaths of Jonas and Colin's deaths. Otherwise level 7.
- Joe Bullet (1973) note The film contains what appears to be a graphic, painful, unsimulated killing of a snake by knife impaling.
- John Dies at the End (2013) note Gory hacking off of heads, gory head splosions, gory eye explosions. The super gory animated "valley" sequence would likely be a 10 if it wasn't so comically portrayed.
- Juan of the Dead (2011) note Gory zombie jaw ripped, body cut in half. Other level 8 violence including bloody decapitations, dismemberment, etc.
- Julia X (2011) note A woman savagely beaten by the Big Bad and later stabbed to death by her own sister with a pair of scissors before the end. Kevin Sorbo bound with razor wire, his feet getting nailed with a pair of iron spikes, beaten with a hammer, stabbed once time with an axe and multiple times with a different pair of scissors and chopped to pieces offscreen and Ving Rhames stabbed in his left eye with a shiv while spurting blood from the wound.
- Katyń (2007) note For the mass murders at the end.
- Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) note Extremely bloody dismemberment, body slicing, headshots, disembowelment, etc. It would be a 10 if not for the violence's overly exaggerated nature.
- Kill Your Friends (2016) note For Rebecca's death and gory disposal.
- Kite (2014) (2014)
- The Kite Runner (2007) note For the infamous rape of a young boy onscreen by another boy. We see alternating shots of the assailant thrusting and the victims pained face, and blood on the victims pants afterward. Very rare for a PG-13 movie here, especially even moreso for said reasons.
- Knights of Badassdom (2013)
- Kung Fury (2015) note Dismemberment, gory slicing in half and Watchmen-style bloody explosions. It would be 10 if it wasn't so comical.

- The Last Hunter (1980)
- Lawless (2012) note Throat slitting, fights with a knuckle duster, gunshots and gibs. Relatively light 9, but gets to this level mainly because of two graphic torture scenes: one of tarring and feathering, one of a man getting castrated, with a subsequent shot of his genitalia preserved in a jar full of moonshine.
- Law Abiding Citizen (2009) note Woman raped and then stabbed to death. Gory remains of torture victim (borderline 10). Repeated, brutal, very bloody neck stabbing. Gory head wound from phone bomb.

- Letters from Iwo Jima and it's sister film (2006) note Gory suicide by grenade.
- Let the Right One In (2008) note For a man's gruesome facial burns, Eli revealing they were castrated with very brief sight of the vampire's scarred genitals (borderline 10) and the pool massacre, which is mostly offscreen but body parts of children are shown falling into the water. A hard 9 overall, with the violence being fast-paced enough to avoid a 10.
- Lost Highway (1997) note Mainly here for Renee's butchered corpse. However, the gory images of said corpse move between grainy CCTV footage to higher quality film stock in quick succession, preventing this from hitting a 10.
- Love Lies Bleeding (2024) note For Jackie crushing J.J.’s head over a table. While the actual murder is offscreen, the aftermath is shown, with brief sight of his corpse afterward - his jaw is broken and partially severed. Borderline 10, but not shown long enough to reach that level. Other level 8 violence and gore including multiple shootings with Ludicrous Gibs and severe beatings, at least two of which are the result of Domestic Abuse, a Body Horror hallucination where Jackie vomits out Lou’s body, and occasionally disturbing effects of steroid abuse that go into full Psycho Serum territory.
- Luca The Smuggler (1980) note Very gory headshots, including one briefly shot to mush (borders on 10). Gory obliterated faces from explosion. Gory shotgun to stomach.
- Lucky Day (2019) note Very messy gunshots, including many civilians; sliced throats whose muscle wound is visible, gory head-explosion with a sawed-off shotgun and the Big Bad graphically exploding into Ludicrous Gibs.

Very graphic deaths by shotgun blasts, resulting in gory aftermaths. A woman has a metal contraption very graphically torn out of her head, taking some of her scalp with it. A humanoid alien fights another humanoid alien and very graphically mutilates the other by tearing multiple pieces of gore from its body (red blood and gore); the perpetrator then makes a sword out of the gore pieces. - Pink Floyd – The Wall (1982) note Most of the gore is shown through animated sequences, but the Deranged Animation makes it extremely graphic. In particular, "Goodbye Blue Sky" has a black eagle burst out of a dove's body into Ludicrous Gibs and mass blood flowing from a crucifix into a sewer drain, and "What Shall We Do Now?" has a baby shapeshift into a monster and then into a Nazi who batters an innocent civilian over the head with a baton, causing his head to explode with an eyeball popping out and blood splattering against the titular Wall. In the reality sequences, "One of My Turns" has the main character cutting his hand on the shattered remains of a broken window pane and profusely leak blood from it, which wasn't even scripted and turned out to be extremely painful for actor Bob Geldof.

- Saving Private Ryan (1998) note Prolonged sequences of graphic, realistic World War II violence, complete with multiple instances of shocking gore used to highlight what soldiers go through during war. Some particular examples include a soldier crying for his mother while holding in his spilled guts, a soldier missing his face, a sticky bomb prematurely exploding in a trooper's hand (causing a bloody explosion), and fire from an anti-aircraft gun shredding ground troops swarming a tank. It would be a 10 if any of it lingered on for too long (which says something considering how drawn-out and detailed the violence is already).
