FOUR BALLSExplanation When Josuke was first found by Yasuho Hirose, she noticed that he had four testicles instead of two.
"What a beautiful alternate Duwang! chew"Explanation With JoJolion featuring an alternate version of Morioh and an alternate Josuke, fans were quick to make jokes of the Duwang subtitles of Part 4 carried over to Part 8.
"Gappy makes me happy."Explanation A punny quote using Josuke's adorkable smile.
"Your Stand is like your asshole. You can't go around showing it off to other people."Explanation A vulgar analogy used by Norisuke IV while talking to Josuke/Gappy. It has been passed around on Tumblr to a dizzying extent.
"The dick is extremely important." Explanation Another quote from Norisuke, this time asking about Yotsuyu's penis after they defeat him. He's asking about how they reproduce.
"Beetle Tendency." Explanation A pun on the name of Part 2, often used to refer to Chapters 34-37, where Josuke and Jobin bet on beetle fights and use their Stands' powers to manipulate the outcome. They get wrapped up in what is basically the beetle version of cock fighting. The fandom latched on to the pun and hasn't let go since. The unusual premise of the story arc made it particularly memorable.
"Innocent rock human murdered by evil stand users/crossdressing child." Explanation Due to Aishou's Tragic Villain status and the set up for the arc as a whole, many fans have framed Tsurugi killing him as a hate crime. Versions of this phrase are drowning Doobie Wah! comment sections.
The rain sounds like Josuke: Soft & WetExplanation The Stand name of Josuke-8 was jokingly compared with the scene in Part 4, where Jotaro mistakes Josuke-4's voice with the rain.
"I know I sound like a broken record, but..." usually followed by, "89 Years Old!?/Did you know that the Head Doctor is 89 years old?" Explanation When the gang looks for, then chases the Head Doctor, Mamezuku continuously brings up his disbelief that their target is 89 years old. Fans quickly picked up on this, and started to bring up his age whenever the HD pops up in a discussion.
"He's a Rock Human, age wouldn't matter to him." Explanation An extension of the above joke is when fans brought up Mamezuku, noting in the prior chapter that age would be insignificant to the Rock Humans, making his continued bafflement about the age of the Head Doctor all the more absurd.
Two and a Half KirasExplanation Part 4's Kira Yoshikage, his alter ego Kosaku Kawajiri, and Gappy, who is half of his universe's Kira, are often parodied with Two and a Half Men.
This universe's Yoshikage Kira also having a stand called Killer Queen which looks identical to the Killer Queen of Part 4 had fans joking that the Ghost Hands shattered Killer Queen and relocated it to Part 8.
Part 8 will be wrapping up soon. Explanation A meme from when Part 8 had been running for a while, with the ultimate Big Bad not being revealed over a long period. Many fans thus mocked it as the part went on seemingly without a goal in sight. Others, more mockingly, used the meme to make fun of others attempting to predict when the story is ending. It wasn't until July 2021 that the part was finally confirmed to be ending a month from then.
"Is he a man of the Jacuzzi or a man of the land?" Explanation The sign-off line at the end of Chapter 86. The sheer absurdity of the sentence has made it prime joke fodder.
"He's a man of the Jacuzzi." Explanation (spoilers) Jobin boils Oujiro alive and he dies in a pool in chapter 88, technically turning it into a Jacuzzi.
Araki actually remembered! Explanation The fans reaction when, after vanishing for over seven years of publication, Starter Villain Oujiro Sasame suddenly turned up again. Given the "Araki Forgot" meme, fans were utterly shocked that such a minor character would be brought back. Has later been used to reference the part as a whole due to multiple prior plot points connecting to the front of the story.
X is the main villain! Explanation JoJolion stands out for not having an ultimate Big Bad established early on, which resulted in a lot of guessing. When the part was ongoing, fans would often debate who the main villain is, and jokingly label any new character as the secret main villain. The most likely candidates were Jobin and Akefu/Tooru, but people liked to jokingly throw in other unlikely candidates like Joshu. The Head Doctor, was introduced near the end of the story, and at the time it was believed that The Head Doctor was the main villain. But then it turns out The Head Doctor was actually a stand posing as a human to cover for the actual main villain, its user Tooru.
Lambo Tree! Explanation Chapter 89 has Josuke and Rai sitting in a Lamborghini, which is parked on a tree, and a landscaper that offers them peaches treats it like as if it were a casual thing. This quickly became an iconic Makes Just as Much Sense in Context moment for the JoJo series due to how weird it is and the complete lack of an explanation of how or why a Lamborghini got up a tree.
"Did you perhaps… Come here… Intending to ‘Pursue’ me?" Explanation The whole Satoru Akefu's monologue to Taoka quickly became a copypasta.
Dododo de Dadada Explanation The name of a Rock Insect that Satoru Akefu uses against the protagonists. It gained memetic status due to its overly long, strange name, its bizarre body and ability, and the fact it entered the plot completely out of left field.
Because it's an insect, initially shown as part of a mat of sticks, and appeared completely unexpectedly, it's gotten comparisons to the stick bug meme that happened shortly after its debut.
Where's the lion? Explanation A meme about the part's title (which actually refers to the Greek word "evangelion"), in which people comedically expect a lion to show up at some point in the part.
Finally, the JoJo lion!Explanation Chapter 99 has a panel with a sea lion in it. Fans were quick to notice it and associate it with the title of the Part.
"Umm... so, personally... this is the first time this has happened, so I'm a bit surprised. Only a centimeter away..."Explanation In the dogpark translation, Wonder Of U completely drops his intimidating, serious tone when Mamezuku Rai corners him at one centimeter away. The humorous shift quickly lead this bewildered reaction to becoming a copypasta.
Warning: Bee◊ Explanation In chapter 102, while Tooru is talking to Yashuo, there's a sign in the background saying this. The way it's written meant that it implied that there was only one bee, yet it still warranted needing a warning sign for it. Many jokes ensued.
Rock Insects Explanation After revealing that the Head Doctor had yet ANOTHER Rock Insect with him in the form of Obladi Oblada, they became a bit of a meme in and of itself. Some fans who felt that the Rock Insects dragged the fight out made jokes about new Rock Insects appearing out of nowhere or being anything just to act as a Diabolus ex Machina.
Inca no mezame potatoes Explanation (Spoilers!) Chapter 107 marks the second appearance of Kaato Higashigata after being Put on a Bus for a long time, in which she confronts and ultimately defeats the true Big Bad of Part 8, who had also killed her son Jobin. The very first thing that comes out of Kaato's mouth? A bizarre monologue where she tearfully recites the recipe for a fried potato stew, as if reading a cookbook out loud. While the context is that Kaato is grieving over the death of her son, and is lamenting that Jobin won't be around for her to prepare him the dish he loves most, fans quickly noted the absurdity of Kaato ramdomly reciting a food recipe with perfect composure despite suffering from severe emotional distress and being in the middle of a life-threatening situation, in the very beginning of the chapter. Her speech was then made into a copypasta in the same vein as the various other Non SequiturCharacter Filibusters the series is known for, as well as prompting many jokes about the nigh-invincible villain of Part 8 being bested by some mentally-ill woman ranting about potatoes.
The Guardrail Explanation With all the yet-to-be-resolved plot points floating about, the penultimate chapter shows a flashback of Lucy Steel and "Fumi-kun"... battling a man-eating guard rail. The whole thing has to be seen to be believed. The sheer bizarreness of this, even for a series as strange as this one, immediately made the guard rail the subject of memes, with one positing that it's the true main villain of the part, or could even end up being the Big Bad of Part 9.
Tooru in random places Explanation Lucy Steel's brief sighting of Tooru harvesting Locacaca in the Radio Gaga Incident arc has become a meme where people edit the image of Tooru into other scenes throughout the series, scenes in other media, or even in real life images.
JoJolion is a story about breaking a curse.Explanation After the Big Bad is defeated, Yasuho's monologue from the start of the manga is repeated (including the quoted line), signaling the end of the series. Became a meme among 4chan fans dissatisfied with the ending, especially how it focused on breaking Tsurugi's curse, with Holly apparently forgotten.
Haruno Higashikata Explanation A Recurring Fanon Character based off of what would have happened if the other half of the Kira/Josefumi exchange survived. He became incredibly prolific, with people claiming that he had always existed, editing him into shots and claiming that if you didn't know him you were faking even reading Part 8 in the first place
