Please add entries in the following format:
- The meme. Explanation
- Further mutations and successor memes, if any.
- "Before we get started, does anyone want to get out?"
- In an odd form of Borrowed Catchphrase, "Winter is Coming" has been adopted as an unofficial tagline by the fandom.
- It's pretty difficult to not add "You know I don't follow the MCU!" after "Who the hell is Bucky?"
- "The Helicarrier's becoming the Enterprise," in a reference to how the thing keeps seeming to die whenever we see it.
- It's become a meme to take an image of someone whispering in someone else's ear and caption it as "Hail HYDRA", like the one in the picture.
- Steve warning Sam "On your left!" as he runs circles around him, which is viral both in unedited and edited form. It actually becomes an Ascended Meme after Avengers: Endgame.
- Tumblr has made a very popular meme of inserting the Marvel and DC logos over Steve and Sam's heads during the running scene to show, in a nutshell, what everyone thinks of the MCU/DCCU rivalry.
- Tweets using the scene to remark on how quickly time seemed to have flown during 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and subsequent quarantine.
- Cap's elevator fight was invoked by a viral tweet describing Solange Knowles's elevator scuffle with Jay-Z.
- Said meme re-emerge in February 2020 as "Captain America Elevator Fight Dad Joke" where he makes a joke in front of Hydra soldiers causing them to break a fight.
- One part has also been used as a substitute for The Avengers (2012) "I understood that reference" meme, with Hydra trying to prevent Steve from saying "he understood that reference!".
- Crossing over with Team America: World Police, the first chase scene between Steve and the Winter Soldier is replaced with "America! Fuck Yeah!" as Steve charges through a building—then it abruptly cuts to the "Bummer Remix" when Steve loses track of him.
- "Captain Dorito", referring to how Cap's torso matches a Dorito chip. Has since become an Ascended Meme, as "Dorito" is the nickname Robert Downey Jr. has given to Chris Evans.
- "Sad Trash Hobo" for Bucky Barnes's status after The Stinger, as well as a general descriptor for when he dips into Puppy-Dog Eyes territory.
- "Winter Sol-nyaa".note It's popular in East Asian fandoms to interpret the Winter Soldier as a particularly surly cat or Cat Boy due to a combination of traits such as the character's vaguely feline appearance and resemblance to Grumpy Cat, and a host of amusing cat stereotypes such as Alexander Pierce offering him milk and his Three-Point Landing on the highway resembling a cat clawing the ground.
- The scene of Bucky waling on Steve who was not fighting back has been compared to a particular scene in the first Pokémon movie, which eventually resulted in people posting gifs of the attacking Pikachu clone in Winter Soldier costume and the real one in Cap's costume◊.
