I'm Coroyuki. I'm living with my friends on a deserted island.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Deserted Island Diary is a Manga by Kokonasu Rumba. It's an adaptation of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Like in the game, the story is about people coming to a desert island after signing up for Nook Inc.'s Deserted Island Getaway Package, and being tasked with building the island up into their ideal new homes. This particular manga follows four humans who come to the island.

As a result, Tom Nook's patience is often tried by these three.

The series was started on July 28th, 2021.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Deserted Island Diary contains examples of:

  • Be Careful What You Wish For: In "Need Some Action? Try Dream Islands", Coroyuki becomes bored and wants excitement. He hears about visiting other islands in their dreams, and tries it out. He goes to Boom Boom Island, Zap Zap Island, and Burn Burn Island before he goes to Palace Island.
  • Bookworm: Benben. He can be seen in many scenes reading from a book.
  • Egopolis: In "Get Rich Quick by Investing in Turnips!", when Coroyuki buys a field's worth of turnips, it makes him so rich he buys the whole island. He renames the stores, the museum, and even the whole island after himself, complete with slapping his face all over every building.
  • Gag Series: Given the games are a Life-Sim, the manga makes up for the lack of plot by taking this route.
  • Growling Gut: Jack's stomach growls from hunger at the end of "How To Have a Proper Halloween".
  • Halloween Episode: The story in volume 2, "How To Have a Proper Halloween", involves the humans going trick-or-treating to find candy to appease Jack.
  • Ocular Gushers: Tears come down Harvey's face in rivers over the gang not calling him Harv, no matter how much he tells them to.
  • Only Sane Man: Tom Nook. Everything he tries to get the protagonists to do is usually messed up in some way, shape, or form, if they even bother to do it at all, much to his chagrin.
  • Overly Long Name: In "At Last, Time to Name the Island!", when Coroyuki decides to have others give feedback to help him name the island, he basically takes everything everyone says and merges it all into "Muscles So Hard That The Whole World Is Jealous Of Today's Goal, Which Is A Meooo-oh Ten-Pack Of Abs That Leads To Spring And Tulips, Who Think The Starry Sky Is More Romantic That A Selfie With A Scallop After Letting Your Tea Steep Too Long Cuz "K.K. Mambo" Was Playing" Island.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Sleepyhead: Guchan is always shown sleeping, even when he's surfing.
  • Snot Bubble: Guchan always has one, since he's always sleeping. He's able to morph it into objects and words.
  • Solid Clouds: In the Volume 1 story "Distress Call", the quartet find Gulliver somehow got from the beach on top of a cloud. Coroyuki asks him how he got there.
  • The Smurfette Principle: Of the four main humans, Himepoyo is the only girl.
  • Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl: One shows up in the well the gang get for one of their photos on Harv's island. Harv befriends it, much to Benben's shock.
  • V-Sign: Guchan makes his Snot Bubble do this in volume 1 while sleeping on the back of a turtle.
  • Wingding Eyes: In "Feel our passion, K.K. Slider!", when everyone is exhausted from their performances to convince K.K. Slider to come to the island, Coroyuki has swirls in his eyes.
