- Bullet Catch: Grabbing a bullet while it’s midair.
- Disappearing Box: Putting somebody in a box and making them disappear.
- Escape Artist: Someone who's really good at escaping from dangerous situations/ensnarement, despite not having any superpowers or magic.
- Fake Wizardry: Someone who fakes the ability to do magic in a setting where real magic exists.
- The Great Whodini: Magicians use the prefix “The Great” or the suffix “-ini” as part of their stage names.
- Impossibly Awesome Magic Trick: A stage magician does a trick that would be impossible in real life.
- Knife-Throwing Act: Someone throws knives at someone else (usually a Lovely Assistant) and just barely misses them.
- Levitating a Lady: Making a woman who is lying down appear to float up into the air.
- Lovely Assistant: A young, pretty woman who assists a magician.
- Magician Detective: A stage magician who uses his magic tricks to do detective work.
- Magicians Are Wizards: A stage magician who does real magic.
- Magic Wand: A handheld device that produces magic.
- Parody Magic Spell: Stage magicians are known to spout random funny gibberish when performing tricks.
- Pick a Card: The magician asks someone to choose a card, then picks it out after shuffling them.
- Powerless Performer, Extraordinary Assistant: The assistant is more powerful (whether simply more talented, smarter, or even actually magical) than the magician.
- Pull a Rabbit out of My Hat: A rabbit is pulled out of an empty hat.
- "Pulling Out Scarves" Trick: A magician or a clown pulls a really long string of scarves from their clothes, ear, or mouth, ending in either a bouquet or their underwear.
- Rabbit Magician: In reference to the classic trick, a rabbit is a stage magician.
- Saw a Woman in Half: A woman is apparently sawn in half.
- Sleight of Handiness: Someone exploits a magic trick for their own benefit.
- Smoke Out: Disappearing in smoke.
- Stage Magician: Someone (usually a man in a suit) who does magic tricks.
- Ventriloquism: A performer who throws their voice.
- What Have We Ear?: Appearing to pull something (usually money) out of someone else's ear.
