When she realizes that her son is gone, she begins bawling her heart out. She and Danny both slide down to the floor and he, feeling guilty on top of his grief, cries almost as hard as Rikki does.

Series/HellOnWheels: Cullen Bohannen has always been a stoic character. Having avoided invoking the trope for the death of [[spoiler: Lily]], it's only when [[spoiler: Elam returns to Hell on Wheels having mentally regressed back to his days on the plantation and Cullen has to stab him to death, and bury his body]] that he finally lets out a tortured, broken cry from all he has lost on the railroad.
