  • The Black and White saga of the Pokémon anime went down a New Season, New Title track similar to the English dub with a saga dubbed Pocket Monsters Best Wishes! Season 2: Episode N, which was then followed up by Pocket Monsters Best Wishes! Season 2: Decolora Adventure!. By then, the dub was using the title Pokémon Black & White: Adventures in Unova (amended to Pokémon Black & White: Adventures in Unova & Beyond for the Decolore Islands arc respectively) for these particular episodes.
    • An episode was titled "Movie Time! Zorua in 'The Legend of the Pokémon Knight'!". The Japanese name of one episode was "Maintain and the Sunken Ship!! The Secret of the Mysterious Pokemon!".
  • If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die which is translated from Oshi ga Budōkan Ittekuretara Shinu.
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion:

  • Episode 26 of School Rumble is called "Totsuzen no 'sayonara'... Mayoikonda rabirinsu... Anata wa dare? ...Oshiete. 'Surechigai' 'Kataomoi' todoke, boku no kimochi. Todoke, watashi no omoi. The official translation just cuts it down to the Gratuitous English final three words "School Rumble Forever!".[[note]]For those curious, the translation is "A Sudden Goodbye...Lost in a Labyrinth...Who are You?...Tell Me. Chance Encounters and Unrequited Love, Reach My Feelings. Reach My Thoughts. A Season That Probably Won't Come Again; One Page of Youth. This is My Last Chance; I Want to Confirm...Your Feelings. Words I Will Tell You, Thoughts I Won't Tell You. A Confession on That Day, That Eternal Day...but...Our 'Now' Will Go On Forever. And So, Tomorrow...School Rumble Forever."

  • Kyoto Animation brings us a member of the Munto franchise, Sora o Miageru Shoujo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai (loosely The World Reflected in the Eyes of a Girl who Looks Up at the Sky).
  • Taku Iwasaki had a lot of fun thinking up song titles for the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann soundtrack.
  • Kochikame: We use that instead of 'Kochira Katsushikaku Kameari Koen Mae Hashutsujo (This Is the Police Station in Front of Kameari Park in Katsushika Ward''). The Shonen Jump series with the longest title.
  • The anime/manga series I Don’t Like You at All, Big Brother!! ("Oniichan No Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara Ne!!"), which is shortened to OniiKoto by fans.
  • Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day: The American title of Ano hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai ("We Still Don't Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day.")
  • Most episode titles in Best Student Council are of perfectly normal length, but episode 18 blindsides the viewer with "Hitoshi Satou, 28 years old, Occupation: Lawyer, Parents are Rich, and Even More Good Qualities to Make Him a Favorable Partner."

  • Episode 9 of Zombie Land Saga is called Though My Life May Have Ended Once By Some Twist of Fate I Have Risen, and If Song and Dance Are to Be My Fate, Then Carrying the Memories of My Comrades In My Heart As I Sally Forth Shall Be My SAGA. The episode's preview narration consists entirely of Saki reciting the title, followed by, "Holy crap, that's long!"
  • Hokuou Kizoku to Moukinzuma no Yukiguni Karigurashi gets longer when translated into English: The Snow Country Hunting Life of the Northern Nobleman and the Raptor Wife
  • Though Young People Recoil From Entering the Black Magic Industry, I Found Its Treatment of Employees Quite Good When I Entered It, and the President and Familiar Are Cute Too So Everything Is Awesome, which is, well, read the title. It's so long, the trope page could only fit the first third of it!
  • I Married My Best Friend to Shut My Parents Up. The original title translates to "I decided to fake a marriage with my junior to shut my parents up."
  • Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko, which roughly translates to "A World Where Everything Definitely Becomes BL vs. The Man Who Definitely Doesn't Want To Be In A BL".
