aka: Marvel Studios

Go To

When Marvel Comics began to adapt its comics into various media (movies, television, animated series) it developed its own studio logos as an extension of the Marvel brand. Some of these logos would also get a customized makeover to fit their respective features.

Before it started on films, Marvel reached out with animated adaptations of its characters under Marvel Productions (later named New World and/or Marvel Films). This studio worked with Saban Entertainment and Fox Kids.

  • For each film or Phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Marvel Studios logo is updated.
  • The Avengers: The Marvel and Paramount logos appears within the Tesseract, seen here.
  • Iron Man 3: "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" plays during the Marvel and Paramount logos, which transitions into the opening scene.
  • Thor: The Dark World: The trailer has the Marvel logo appear within Thor's cape.
  • Guardians Of The Galaxy: The Marvel Studios fanfare is subtly rearranged, and when the word "Studios" appears in the logo, it’s accompanied by the sound of a cassette tape starting, seen here.
  • Ant-Man: "Borombon" by Camilo Azuquita plays instead of the usual fanfare, before cutting to Scott Lang in prison, "Borombon" still playing in the background.
  • For 3D versions of Marvel Studios films starting with Doctor Strange (2016), the logo has Captain America's shield from Captain America: The First Avenger fly out of the screen instead of fading away with its wielder. Contrast the 2D version.
  • Spider-Man: Homecoming: The Marvel Studios logo replaces the standard music accompanying the logo with an orchestral arrangement of the classic Spider-Man cartoon theme ("Spider-Man, Spider-Man, Does whatever a spider can..."), composed by Michael Giacchinno, under the title "Theme from Spider-Man (Original Television Series)", while Spidey takes Hulk's place in the clip montage, seen here.
  • Thor: Ragnarok: The logo glows red-hot and melts from Muspelheim flames, seen here, foreshadowing Ragnarok, where Asgard is destroyed by Surtur.
    • The film trailers had the logo shaded green, the colors of both Hela and the Hulk.
  • On what would have been Chadwick Boseman's 44th birthday, the version of Black Panther on Disney+ was updated with a new Marvel logo in honor of him that was shaded purple (the Wakandan royal color) and featured quotes/images/videos of Boseman in his appearances in the MCU films, akin to Stan Lee's own Marvel logo in Captain Marvel (2019). It can be seen here.
    • The teaser trailer had the logo's background turn from red to black.
  • Avengers: Infinity War: The standard Marvel Studios fanfare is replaced with audio of a distress call from an Asgardian ship (the same one from the end of Thor: Ragnarok), the red background in the logo itself fades to black, and the number 10 in red appears inside the logo. This makes the logo read Marvel Stud10s, marking the MCU's tenth anniversary, seen here.
  • Captain Marvel: As the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film released after Stan Lee's death, the Marvel Studios logo replaces quotes/images/videos from previous MCU movies with those of Lee's cameos in said movies, as well as publicity photos and footage of Stan, and comes with a message after the logo fades out at the end: "Thank you, Stan." This can be seen here.
    • The trailers had the logo in Carol's signature blue and gold colors.
  • Avengers: Endgame:
    • Due to the end of Infinity War, the opening logo sequence omits the pictures and movie clips of the heroes who were exterminated by Thanos's snap, which caused the Blip, (and Ant-Man, who's trapped in the Quantum Realm) (albeit with the backgrounds in the movie clips remain in use) while "Dear Mr. Fantasy" by Traffic plays. Seen here.
    • At the end of the closing credits, the Marvel logo is accompanied by the sound of a hammer striking, reminding us of where it all began... in a cave, with a box of scraps.
    • In trailers, the Marvel logo crumbles to dust.
  • Each Avengers film used variants of the Avengers team logo for its teaser posters:
    • The Avengers had the Avengers logo appear normally for the group's debut, seen here,
    • Avengers: Age of Ultron had the Avengers logo appear in a silver, mechanical form with red lights, Ultron’s style, seen here.
    • Avengers: Infinity War had the Avengers logo appear in space with iridescent purple space lights, seen here.
    • Infinity War also had a gallery of posters of each Avenger/Guardian with the Avengers logo, and one special poster with all the Avengers and Guardians around one gigantic Avengers logo, seen here.
    • Avengers: Endgame has the Avengers logo crumble into dust. It still uses the purple lighting but is now in front of a cloudy sky, seen here.
    • Endgame also has a new logo in white, black and red, representing the Avenger team uniform color scheme, seen here.
    • Some new Endgame posters debut the Avengers logo in purple and slightly broken up.
  • WandaVision
    • In "Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience", the logo warps into black-and-white and 2D and switches from 2.35:1 to 4:3 aspect ratio and mono audio to invoke a 1950's TV look. It can be seen here. It was worth noting that this was the first time the Phase Four variant was used.
    • In "Previously On," the first episode aired after Agatha Harkness, whose magic is purple and smoky, revealed herself, the logo's background turns purple and fades by smoky transition to the opening scene. It can be seen here.
    • The trailer has the Marvel logo appear on a black-and-white television.
  • The Falcon and the Winter Soldier:
    • The second episode, "The Star-Spangled Man," forgoes the usual Marvel fanfare in favor of a marching band rendition of "The Star Spangled Man with a Plan", segueing into John Walker's first press appearance as Captain America.
    • The trailer has the Marvel logo outlined in blue/white, to complement the red background (all three are the American colors too).
  • Loki: The Marvel logo appears in green and gold, Loki's colors, seen here.
    • The Season 1 finale has the logo with archival dialogue and sound effects from all the characters appearing in the logo, taken from past MCU films and TV series, seen here.
    • Episode 3 of Season 2 uses a ragtime musical styled version of the fanfare, composed by Natalie Holt, under the title "Golden Olden".
    • The Season 2 finale has the logo play in reverse.
    • The trailer has the Marvel logo with a background of jumbled letters.
  • Black Widow: The trailer has the Marvel logo turn red and black and appear with a black widow hourglass marking, as seen here.
  • Eternals: The logo features the Celestials in its comic pages.
    • The trailer for had the logo be part of a golden construct designed by Phastos.
  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: The trailer has the logo be shaded gold, with the Ten Rings insignia behind it.
  • WhatIf: The logo switches into the animated style of the series.
    • The second season finale features a Special Edition Title logo that features variants from the show in place of the original heroes (the Hulk replaced with Happy Hogan, Steve Rogers with Captain Carter, etc).
  • Hawkeye: The series trailer has the logo set against a background of concentric rings, representing an archery target.
  • Spider-Man: No Way Home: The incriminating broadcast that outs Peter Parker as Spider-Man plays over the Sony, Columbia Pictures, and Marvel Studios intros in lieu of their standard themes, with ominous music accompanying the logos, and adds intense drum beats making the Marvel Studios fanfare as their logo appears. It was worth noting that Michael Giacchinno composed the track "Intro to Fake News", which makes sense that he also composed the fanfare. As the Marvel Studios logo finishes its animation, it cuts out in static, just before Mysterio outs Peter. Also, like in Homecoming and Far from Home, Spider-Man appears inside the letter R in the clip montage, this time using his entrance from the portals in Avengers: Endgame.
  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: The Marvel Studios logo features scenes of Doctor Strange and the Scarlet Witch.
    • The teaser trailer has the Marvel logo shift between different versions of itself.
  • Moon Knight: The trailer has the logo tilt counterclockwise against a white backdrop, while the lighting shifts.
  • Ms. Marvel:
    • Episode 1 - after the logo appears, it turns into a collage artwork, seen here. An instrumental version of "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd plays throughout.
    • Episode 5 - the logo turns sepia-toned and changes its ratio size, to fit the 1940s era and footage of the Indian's independence on August 17, 1942.
    • The trailer has the logo appear as part of Kamala's daydream in comic-book doodles.
  • Thor: Love and Thunder: The Marvel Studios fanfare is played on a rock guitar. Michael Giacchinno composed this piece.
  • I Am Groot: The intro is fast-forwarded through by Baby Groot until the Marvel Studios logo appears in full, at which point the intro resumes normal speed, and switches into the same animated style as What If...? (see above). After that, Baby Groot is shown in front then hits the camera.
    • While Season 1 uses a VHS style, Season 2 uses a modern-day streaming style. The latter season has an abridged version of the fanfare, while Nanh Groot hums while fast forwarding.
  • She-Hulk: Attorney at Law: For the trailer, the logo's background turns green, the same color as the title character.
  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: replaces all of the images and videos with those of Chadwick Boseman in character (both in and out of the habit) (see above) and there is no music over a black background. The logo fades to black after the end.
    • The teaser trailer has the logo in white and on the ground, as the Wakanda funeral procession passes across it.
  • Werewolf By Night: The Marvel Studios logo starts off as normal… until claw marks flash across the screen and screaming can be heard. After this, the whole screen shifts into black and white, the music becomes more sinister, several more claw flashes and screams occur, and the logo itself is electrified. Michael Giacchino, who served as the TV special's director, composed the track "Mane Title". While it has *#"x originally in black and white, a color version was released a year later.
  • The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special: The comic book pages are all of Christmas themed issues (Santa can be glimpsed), the logo is wrapped in Christmas lights, and there is snowfall superimposed over everything. "Fairytale in New York" by The Pogues plays during the logo.
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: All the quotes, images and videos from previous Marvel movies are from the previous Guardians of the Galaxy films, as well as their appearances in Infinity War and Endgame.
  • Secret Invasion: The logo is shortened considerably, removing all of the images and videos beyond the first few, with the logo appearing almost immediately.
  • The Marvels: Similar to the Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness variant, the Marvel Studios logo features scenes of Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau.
  • Echo (2024): The Marvel Studios logo appears in black and white, without the animation. After that, the Marvel Spotlight logo is shown.
    • The third episode features the logos as part of the silent-film prologue.
  • Western Animation/X-Men '97 debuted the new Marvel Animation logo that is in a similar style to that of Marvel Studios, with a few differences. Although there are no clips shown on the Marvel logo, the background shows the company's past animated properties, turning into the same background as shown in What If...? and I Am Groot.
