The Minority Report is a 1956 science fiction novella written by Philip K. Dick.

Commissioner John Anderton is the aging head of Precrime, a police bureau that arrests criminals before they have a chance to commit crimes. They do so with the use of three "precogs", mentally-disabled adults who are able to predict crimes up to a week in advance. Things take a turn the day Anderton is himself predicted to murder Leopold Kaplan, a retired Army general whom he has never met. As a manhunt begins for his arrest, Anderton is thrown into a potential conspiracy involving his new second-in-command, Ed Witwer, who he believes wants his job; his young wife, Lisa, who he fears is cheating on him; and the Army, which seems to be using the incident to discredit Precrime altogether.

The novella was loosely adapted into a film directed by Steven Spielberg, Minority Report.
