"Drowned woman and her husband" is a Mediaeval tale sometimes falsely attributed to Aesop's Fables.
One day, a woman drowned in a stream, and her husband was going against the current to look for her corpse. Another man noticed him and advised to follow the flow instead. Then the husband tells him his wife was "always difficult and contrary and went against the ways of others, like how she would go against the current".
