Brawn, Paragon for some reason, Roz, Abby, Thunder, and Lance.
Superhuman is the prequel series to The New Heroes (or Quantum Prophecy stateside), which is written by Michael Carroll. Here we follow the adventures of Lance (a conman who was swept up into the world of superheroes), Roz (telekinetic sister to the telepath Max Dalton), Thunder (a sound manipulator), Abby (who is super strong and super tough), and Brawn (a blue giant).
The four books are:
- Superhuman
- Ascension
- Stronger
- Hunter
These books provide examples of:
- Action Girl: Abby and Roz
- Ancient Conspiracy: Bringing back Krodin.
- Anti-Hero: Max Dalton, through unknown to everybody thanks to his mind control. Apex was mention to be one.
- Anti-Villain: Brawn, though Max covers this up.
- Adaptive Ability: Krodin
- Alternate Timeline: Pyrokine accidentally created one trying to kill Krodin, as seen in the second novel.
- Badass Normal: Lance, who get by with skills he got from his days as a conman. Paragon counts.
- Brainwashing for the Greater Good: Max believes he's doing this.
- Blessed with Suck: Dioxin constantly leaking out toxic acid. Brawn is trapped in a form of a blue giant. Pretty much any superhuman who are physically alter by their powers.
- Brought to You by the Letter "S": Titan
- Brought Down to Normal: At the end of Hunter.
- Manipulative Bastard: Lance, what do expect from a former conman?
- Reed Richards Is Useless: Forcefully averted by Krodin in the second book. But mostly play straight.
- Superdickery: Max at times.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: Krodin, as well as Casey Duval.
