They like their potty even more, and use it every time.

Once Upon a Potty (originally Sir HaSirimHebrew , ‘The Potty of Potties’) is a children's potty training book written by Alona Frankel and first published in Israel in 1975. In the United States, it's published by Barron's Educational Series Inc. Both male and female versions exist; the protagonists in each are Joshua and Prudence, respectively. The book later received a Direct to Video animated adaptation in 1990.

This book provides the following examples:

  • Dub Name Change: In the original Hebrew version, Joshua is called Naftali and Prudence is called Tziona.
  • Mistaken for Toilet: Inverted where the protagonist thinks the potty is a hat, pet bowl, or birdbath.
  • Potty Failure: At one point, the main character accidentally goes "wee-wee" and "poo-poo" outside of their potty.
  • Pun-Based Title: The original Hebrew title, Sir HaSirim, is a pun on the Song of Songs, Shir HaShirim.
  • She's a Man in Japan: The original Hebrew version only had a male protagonist; the female version was created later, at the American publisher's request.
  • Toilet Training Plot: Joshua and Prudence learn how to use the potty.
