The story of revenge set in another world. About a Healer with the weakest skill. note

"I'LL DESTROY THIS COUNTRY. I'LL TURN IT TO ASH! NOT EVEN DUST WILL REMAIN! EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!! I WILL ABSOLUTELY KILL YOU ALL!!"
Masamune Hidako

Nito's Lazy Foreign World Syndrome (Nito no Taidana Isekai Shoukougun: Saijaku Shoku "Healer" nano ni Saikyou wa Cheat desu ka?, ニトの怠惰な異世界症候群 〜最弱職<ヒーラー>なのに最強はチートですか?〜, literally "A NEET’s Guide to the Parallel World: Healer, the Strongest Cheat?") is a Japanese light novel series written by Joryu Romero with illustrations by Garuku and is based on the Web Novel of the same name. The Light Novel was adapted into a Manga series with illustrations by Maehata and serialized by Comic Walker, with 5+ volumes released as of October 30, 2019.

17-year-old high school student Masamune Hidako jumps off the roof of the school building as a result of bullying. However, at the same time, he and his classmates are caught up in a "Hero Summoning" ritual.

They find themselves in a throne room. In front of them are the figures of the king and princess of the Kingdom of Grayburg.

There they find that they now possess unique abilities, but Masamune discovers he was granted the status of a Healer, the weakest class of all. It was the "weakest job" that could not even use offensive magic.

Masamune was criticized for being incompetent and was forcibly banished by the princess' teleportation magic. But not before Masamune swears revenge against the king, princess, the Kingdom, and all his classmates.

In an unfamiliar location wandering in the darkness, he comes across a chest with a mysterious potion. An unknown voice encourages him to drink it if he wants more power. By doing so, he obtained the skill of "Mischievous Reversal."

Gaining the power of the "strongest," Masamune vows to take revenge on the classmates and princess who oppressed him and begins his adventure in another world.

Compares to series like Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest, Failure Frame, Garbage Brave, I'm The Only One With Unfavorable Skills, Isekai Summoning Rebellion, and Suterareta Yuusha No Eiyuutan where a group of students are isekai'd to another world, and the main character is ostracized for his weak skills before being betrayed.

Nito's Lazy Foreign World Syndrome includes examples of:

  • All of the Other Reindeer: None of Masamune's classmates bother to speak in his defense or stand up for him when Aries declares she intends to dispose of him. Downplayed with Ichijo Yuikimura, who expresses regret for not intervening in his exile or bullying.
  • Anti-Hero: Members of Dragon's Heart who are notorious for killing corrupt people in positions of power. The Kingdom of Grayburg using the Forbidden Spell: Hero Summoning draws Dragon's Hearts wrath.
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: The Kingdom of Grayburg who carried out the Forbidden Hero Summoning Ritual after declaring war on demons.
  • Beyond the Impossible: Anything ranked "Fantasy Grade."
  • Black-and-White Insanity:
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Any battle that Masamune is involved in. Even Aries and Johannes who are equal to S rank adventurers are no match.
  • Dark Is Not Evil:
    • Toa may be part of the demon race, but she's kinder than most humans that appear.
    • He may be capable of using Abyss magic but Masamune is far from villainous.
  • Defiant to the End: Masamune swears vegeance against his classmates and the Kingdom of Grayburg right before he's sent away. See the quote at the top of the page.
  • Didn't Think This Through: The Kingdom of Grayburg exiles its Healer but not before telling him how they think he's trash. A class he received through no fault of his own. The person responsible for healing, curing status effects and buffing their team. Giving him every reason to come back and destroy them.
  • Driven to Suicide: Tired of being bullied Masamune heads to the top of the school to jump off. Fortunately, that's when the Kingdom of Grayburg decides to carry out their Hero Summoning ritual.
  • Fantastic Racism: Like most settings Demihumans are discriminated against and enslaved.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: After drinking the God of Revenge Potion which gave Masamune the Goddess' Divine Protection and Mischievous Reversal skills.
  • Gone Horribly Right: The Kingdom of Grayburg wanted to summon powerful heroes in their war against the demons. Unfortunately, they decide to humiliate and exile him which comes back to bite them.
  • Good is Not Nice: Masamune will treat anyone how they treat and has zero problems with turning someone into soup with the acidic tears of a god.
  • Healing Magic Is the Hardest: The novel explains why the Healer class is viewed with such scorn over several volumes. 1.) The Priest class is also capable of healing magic, cures, removing curses, etc. and also has combat utility. The Healer class has no combat utility and thus is very, very hard to grow with. The only reason Nitto is such a powerhouse is that he found the potion of [Mischievous Reversal] which allows him to invert his healing magic and do damage. 2.) Magic spells compatible with the Healer class are exceptionally rare. Nitto is only able to find compatible magics by sheer chance, and then only thanks to factors beyond his control. Perusing the libraries of several countries has netted him nothing.
  • Human Sacrifice: The key requirement for the Forbidden Hero Summoning Ritual and one of the reasons for it being classified as forbidden. The exact number is unknown but ranges from hundreds to thousands. The race of the sacrificed beings determines the race of the summoned being. In the past, when beasts were used as sacrifices the resulting summon was a beast that was devoid of reasoning or communication skills who proceeded to kill everyone.
  • Idiot Ball: Even though he acknowledges that he should hide his identity and skills Masamune eventually does something to blow his cover.
  • It's Personal: See the quote at the top of the page.
  • Mook Horror Show: The result when Dragon's Heart and Masamune launch a raid on the Kingdom of Grayburg.
  • Morality Pet: Sierra, Toa, and Nemu represent this for Masamune. Lampshaded by him.
"I do think I've changed from the old me who was always alone and I'm sure that's because I met them all. That's why I'm thankful to the three of them from the bottom of my heart."
  • No One Could Survive That!: The rest of the Summoned Heroes don't hesitate to write Masamune off after his exile.
  • Orcus on His Throne: Shaon has been waiting on his throne waiting for a while now. According to Zuuri it's been 150 years since the last one came around.
  • Ordinary High-School Student: The whole class was this before they got summoned.
  • Power Levels:
    • Common Grade: B-rank monsters, monster materials, and minerals, as well as items produced with low-quality materials.
    • Rare Grade: A-rank monsters, monster materials, and minerals, as well as items produced with high-quality materials.
    • National Treasure Grade: S-rank monsters, monster materials, and minerals, as well as items produced with national treasure quality materials.
    • Legend Grade: SS-rank monsters, monster materials, and minerals, as well as items produced with legendary quality materials.
    • Mythology Grade: SSS-rank monsters, monster materials, and minerals, as well as items produced with mythology-quality materials.
    • Fantasy Grade: Infinite-rank monsters, monster materials, and minerals, as well as items produced with unidentified materials.
  • Our Demons Are Different: They look indistinguishable from humans and possess a high amount of magic power.
  • Powered by a Forsaken Child: The secondary reason for the Hero Summoning Ritual being classified as forbidden. Due to limitations placed on magic cores to prevent them from damaging the user's body. It's difficult to gather enough magic power. To bypass these limitations requires one to be plunged into terror and despair. To reach that state, sacrifices are tortured to the verge of death until they're crippled with their minds broken. At which point an enormous amount of magic is released to carry out the ritual.
  • Readings Are Off the Scale: Subverted, the stronger someone gets, the less likely it becomes for those beneath them in power to get a reading on their level.
    • Played Straight with anything above Mythology Grade, to the point that people doubt their existence.
    • The Serpent Sword, Kilgils which Shaon gave to Masamune after being defeated by him and later given to Toa.
  • Reincarnate in Another World: Due to dying as they were being summoned Masamune has the Reincarnated title.
  • Released to Elsewhere: The Kingdom of Grayburg has a teleportation circle in the throne room as a security feature to randomly deposit whoever is inside it anywhere. It also helps to throw away those they deem useless.
  • RPG Mechanics 'Verse: People can call up a status screen to check their name, level, class, stats, and skills. Masamune is capable hiding his with his "Mimic Life" skill.
  • Secret Test of Character: The request to exterminate the basilisk is one by King Arnold Razhausen to Masamune.
  • Stock Light-Novel Hero: Masamune. Let's see:
    • Summoned to another world with their classmates.
    • Has a class deemed weak and gets exiled for it by those that summoned him.
    • Bullied by classmates who don't stick up for him as he's exiled.
    • Swears revenge against those who wronged him.
    • Becomes more ruthless after the ordeal.
    • The first enemy they encounter is extremely strong, but he somehow manages to kill it, becoming OP in the process.
    • Gets harem as the story progresses.
  • Stupid Evil:
    • Saeki still continues to unrepentantly bully and mock Masamune even after discovering he committed suicide as a result.
    • Aries Greyburg loudly admits in front of his classmates that she decided to exile Masamune after discovering his class. Then smugly grins as he's teleported away.
    • Reyd decides it's a good idea to attack the guy who singlehandedly destroyed Noot Kelaine, a monster that required the mobilization of four White King's Knights.
  • Took a Level in Badass: After escaping the dungeon he was banished to, Masamune possesses a level of 697. For reference Sieg, the leader of Dragon's Heart who is feared by other nations and was able to defeat Albert Morlow the Kingdom of Grayburg's strongest magician, is level 48.
  • Trapped in Another World: The situation Masamune and the rest of the Summoned Heroes are in after being summoned. Especially after Dragon's Heart kills the Grayburg Royal Family and retainers.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Masamune after his job class is discovered.
