Nerdycorn is a Children's Picture Book by Andrew Root and Erin Kraan.

Erin isn't like the other unicorns. While everyone else is all about jumping over rainbows and diving off waterfalls, she's building robots and coding machines to suit her whims. Sadly, the other unicorns often like making fun of her and excluding her from dances for her ways.

So, one day, she decides she's had enough of this and stops doing things for them. They soon come to regret how they acted.

Nerdycorn contains examples of:

  • All of the Other Reindeer: The other unicorns often pick on Fern, make fun of her, and exclude her from dances. They come to regret this when she stops doing things for them.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Fern builds a lot of machines, such as her robot, and her Zero-G ice cream machine.
  • Meganekko: Fern wears a pair of glasses with really thick frames.
  • Bully Turned Buddy: The other unicorns start treating Fern with respect after coming to regret how they treated her.
  • Nerd Glasses: Fern wears these. On one page, the other unicorns make fun of them by putting a pair of donuts up to their eyes to mock them.
  • One-Word Title: Nerdycorn, of course.
  • Pun-Based Title: Nerd + Unicorn = Nerdycorn.
  • Rainbows and Unicorns: At the start of the book, a bunch of unicorns (sans Fern) are seen jumping among a bunch of rainbows.

  • Smart People Build Robots: On the second page, Fern is seen building a robot.
  • Unicorn: The majority of the cast, really.
