The Looperverse is a collection of stories in the same universe by web author Looperreallyreallyrocks (with the exception of Unrequited Love, which was written by ElfenLiedFan90).
The verse currently consists of the following works:
- 30 Days in Spring (which also includes the writers cut)
- Fragments of a Soul
- Unrequited Love
- A Case in Bucksville
- The Adventures of a Sword: A fictional story inside the already fictional universe.
- 330 Hours
- 330 Hours: Revolution
- Post Mortem (2022)
- Project A75
The 'Verse contains examples of the following tropes:
- Ax-Crazy: The multiverse is full of these kind of characters, including Ryan, Jonathan, most of the villains in The Adventures of a Sword, and Don's goons.
- Big Bad: Along with the big bad of the entire verse every story has one.
- 30 Days in Spring has the main protagonist himself Ryan Rhodes who goes around killing his classmates when their bus crashes in the woods.
- In Fragments of a Soul, Adam’s father — despite his death before the story's beginning — is behind most of the conflict due to his sexual abuse of Adam.
- Unrequited Love has April, who spends the story trying to seduce Darren before attempting to destroy the world.
- A Case in Bucksville has the strangler who is revealed to be Jonathan Moore, who is behind the strangulations.
- The Adventures of a Sword has Emperor Ginold the ruler of the Northeast Planet.
- 330 Hours & 330 Hours: Revolution have Dr. Gold, the CEO of the Yofrenian government, serving as the main antagonist of the duology as a whole (debuting as a direct threat in Revolution), and Don Hunter, the captain of the Yofrenian team, who serves as the most prominent threat in the first story while the Yofrenian government operates in the background.
- Post Mortem (2022): At first it seems to be the unknown man who attacked Ralph and caused him to lose his memories, in reality, it is actually Ralph himself.
- Project A75 has Mr. Pink the one who recruited Ryan and Ralph and brought the three heroes to the mountain for his plans. It is also revealed he is Greater-Scope Villain of the entire series as he was the mastermind behind nearly every tragedy in the Looperverse.
- Canon Welding: A few of the stories contain references to other stories to tie them together in terms of continuity. Fragments of a Soul references 30 Days in Spring, A Case in Bucksville also references the events of 30 Days in Spring, 330 Hours references A Case in Bucksville and The Adventures of a Sword, and Post Mortem (2022) references A Case in Bucksville and Unrequited Love.
- Crapsack World: Considering just how bleak those stories are, how many horrible people exist, and the fact that by the time of 330 Hours, the world has turned into a full-on Dystopia, this trope can be applied to this universe as a whole.
- Hate Sink: See here.
- Homage: Most of the stories are, in one or another, inspired by other works:
- 30 Days in Spring took inspiration from works like Lord of the Flies, Game of Thrones, and Cannibal Holocaust.
- Fragments of a Soul took inspiration from Midnight Cowboy, as the overall subject matter and some various scenes suggest.
- A Case in Bucksville was heavily inspired by Broadchurch, if the usage of The Dog Was the Mastermind and the killer strangling kids was any indication.
- The 330 Hours duology was inspired by The Hunger Games and Battle Royale.
- Post Mortem (2022) was inspired by the 2000 film Memento.
- Kid Hero: While there are exceptions most of the heroes or protagonists in the verse are pretty young.
- Present Day: Most of the stories take place around the same time as the stories were made. This is averted with 330 Hours which takes place in the future.
- Sliding Scale of Idealism vs. Cynicism: While not the most extreme out there the series is pretty dark with regular instances of murder, rape and more.
- Yandere: April is obsessed with her former lover Eoghan and his descendants and will do anything to have them for herself, even willing to destroy the entire world.
