"Let's build our own country. A kingdom just for the two of us."
Ira Takuto

After passing away at a young age to illness, Ira Takuto wakes up and finds himself in a forest. He is approached by Atou, a girl who bears a striking resemblance to a character in his favourite real-time strategy game "Eternal Nations". Prior to his death, Takuto had achieved legendary status amongst players of Eternal Nations for clearing the game on the hardest difficulty with the most difficult, Evil-aligned civilization, "Mynoghra, the civilization of Ruin". Atou, a Hero Unit from this civilization, explains that while she doesn't know where they are at the moment, she still remembers all the times they spent together in the game world. On her suggestion, the pair decide to start the new country of Mynoghra once more.

Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra: World Conquest Starts with the Civilization of Ruin (Isekai Mokushiroku Mynoghra: Hametsu no Bunmei de Hajimeru Sekai Seifuku) is a novel series written by Kazuno Fehu; originally a Web Serial Novel that was first released on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2017, it was later published as a series of Light Novels in 2019 with illustrations by Jun. The story has a manga adaptation by GOMI Hidekazu, which began serialization in ComicWalker in 2020.

Isekai Apocalypse Mynoghra features examples of:

  • Actual Pacifist: Takuto's preferred playstyle in Eternal Nations was to focus on internal administration and domestic affairs. Because of this he actively avoids making any hostile actions towards any other nations.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Some chapters make it difficult to tell if Ira's fog form is Through the Eyes of Madness or Ira's human form is actually a Residual Self-Image to the audience.
  • Bad Is Good and Good Is Bad: On a meta level. Takuto is officially registered as "evil" by the world setting, but he is generous, kind, practices genuine charity, and rescues the dark elf refugees for no other reward than a simple "thank you" and considers using them for labor and soldiers as an afterthought, when they come to him and beg to be of use, and what's more, only wishes to live in peace. The "Good" countries are rife with Fantastic Racism, classism, corruption, hypocrisy, and are rampant warmongers out to exterminate "heretics" and "blasphemers" simply on the pretext that they come from another race, or worship anything other than their "good" god(dess).
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: Mynoghra's primary food resource production building is the Flesh Tree, which creates fruit that resembles the taste of human flesh.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Atou single-handedly kills a human scouting party consisting of fifty men and two Holy Knights. Even when she appears to be losing, she only does it to lower their guard so she could kill them a little faster
  • Combat Tentacles: Atou has the power to create countless tentacles, strong enough to cut down large trees with a single swipe, from her back or the ground.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Despite Takuto's appearance as a black, shadowy figure, he is actually a very kind and caring person, even spending his own very limited mana to feed a starving group of Dark Elves he had never met before.
  • Death March: The Dark Elves were persecuted and chased out of their home by the Elves, with many being killed or taken as slaves. The few remaining survivors found themselves wandering with no destination and rapidly running out of food.
  • Death Seeker: The dark elf twins Cearia and Mearia, after being hired as maids to Takuto, deliberately failed at their tasks, hoping that he would get angry and kill them. They do this because during the dark elves' exile, their mother volunteered to be eaten by the rest of the tribe so that the rest of them could survive.
  • The Dreaded: Takuto. Prior to meeting him, the dark elf sage Moltar warns the scavenging party of a great evil sealed in the cursed forest, known only as the "King of Ruin." Subverted when they find out how big of a softie Takuto really is.
  • Early Game Hell: Mynoghra's starting location is horrifically abysmal. Not only is it in the middle of the cursed forest where nothing grows, but there are also no strategic resources available, and freely available mana is next to zero. If that wasn't bad enough they are also surrounded by two of the largest Good-aligned countries in the game who wouldn't hesitate to destroy them if they were discovered.
  • Exact Words: When the Holy Knight asks if Atou would swear to god on her words, she replies she swears to her god.
  • Fantastic Flora: The Flesh Tree, a tree that produces fruit that has the taste and texture of human flesh. It also sometimes talks.
  • Fearless Fool: Puck. Upon seeing Takuto's shadow form for the first time, instead of cowering in fear or running away, he asks if he wants to be friends. He says yes.
  • Fictional Video Game: The game "Eternal Nations."
  • Game-Breaker: Takuto has the ability, Emergency Production, that allows him to spawn items at the cost of mana. While he isn't able to spawn strategic resources that already exist in the game, he finds out that there are no such restrictions when it comes to things from outside the game. In-Universe, Takuto realizes just how broken this loophole can be when used in the context of Eternal Nations, a typical fantasy world.
  • Hero Unit: Takuto focuses on summoning these for his kingdom's defenses as they use less resources that won't strain their limited resources when starting out. Atou is also a Hero Unit.
  • Hidden Elf Village: Mynoghra is located deep within the cursed forest, Daijukai, where everyone is too scared to enter. Also literally an Elf Village since the inhabitants are primarily Dark Elves.
  • Insect Queen: Isla, Mynoghra's second hero unit. Her title is literally "Queen of All Bugs" and every single insect in the world grew stronger just because she was summoned.
  • Last Chance to Quit: Atou gives the human scouting party several chances to turn back from the forest. The leader of the group, Verdel, takes the hint is about to leave but his second in command demands that they capture and interrogate her before he takes over leadership of the group. He very quickly realizes his mistake.
  • Lovecraftian Superpower: Atou's tentacles appear to break out of her back, creeping out several of the Dark Elves when she first demonstrated it.
  • Misunderstood Loner with a Heart of Gold: Takuto. His social anxiety coupled with his shadowy appearance tends to scare others away when in fact he is a rather kind-hearted person.
  • New Game Plus: Takuto, before his death, was the #1 player of "Eternal Nations" even getting the unique achievement of being the only player to Take Over the World on the hardest difficulty setting by starting with the kingdom of Mynoghra. After his death, he wakes up on the throne of Mynoghra as a Deity of Human Origin.
  • Nice Guy: What Takuto is despite being "evil"; he saved the starving Dark Elves simply because he felt bad for them.
  • Ominous Floating Castle: The type of palace Ira wants to have built one day for himself.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Outside of Mynoghra, Takuto is only known in myths as the "King of Ruin".
  • Properly Paranoid: Takuto might be a pacifist that prefers to not use violence, but he makes it a point to summon Hero characters to defend his kingdom.
  • Rape, Pillage, and Burn: What happened to the Dark Elves and the reason the survivors fled to the forest.
  • This Is Your Brain on Evil: Upon officially becoming citizens of Mynoghra, the neutrally-aligned dark elves' minds are temporarily overwhelmed with nothing but thoughts of hatred and revenge against the ones who persecuted them.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Any slight against Takuto, real or perceived, will cause this reaction from Atou.
  • Through the Eyes of Madness: Aside from Atou and Takuto, everyone else sees Takuto as nothing more than a humanoid form of black fog.
  • Twisting the Words: Because Takuto is unable to communicate with others properly, he usually asks Atou to speak on his behalf. This sometimes backfires on him especially during negotiations where it's shown that she isn't quite as even-tempered as he is. She goes so far as to straight up lie about achievements that Takuto has supposedly done in order to make him look more impressive than he actually is. Examples include creating the magical fruit known as "apples", inventing magic that makes trees grow faster, and discovering that the cause of a plague that had ravaged another country was due to germs carried by rats and describing methods to control the spread.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Atou and Takuto still think in video game logic, so it isn't until one of their citizens comments on how the seeds from the fruit he gave them are growing does he realize that the food he makes from his Emergency Provisions can produce the seeds they need for their country to be self sufficient, as well as how broken this ability is with real world appreciations.
  • You Can't Fight Fate: The [Brave Questers] enemies show that they still bring along their own gameplay logic and most importantly, their story line triggers. Iska finds out the hard way when she defeats Flamin, it triggers his storyline script to explode and cause the champion who defeated him to sacrifice themselves to save their two apprentices, to the point that this somehow forced Carrie and Marrie to appear to fulfill it, forcing Iska to sacrifice herself to save them. This also works against the [Brave Questers] since, due to being bosses, forces all of their fights to be inescapable boss fights where they can't run ether.
