  • Ace Combat: Equestria Chronicles: When facing Mirage Squadron, Red Cyclone orders his soldiers thusly:
    Red Cyclone: Kill those cursed Pegasi, but that rainbow-maned one is mine!
  • Adopted Displaced: In There's Nopony I'd Rather Be Than Me's "Nightmare in Equestria" arc, Nightmare Moon learns that the populace is planning to stop the Element Bearers before they can reach her. She then invokes this, mostly because she believes the Element Bearers are supposed to defeat her.
  • Evangelion Gear: Asuka defects and joins Seele specifically so she can face Shinji in combat, determined to prove herself the superior pilot through any means necessary.
  • Frequently appears through the Five Worlds War series; when faced with a powerful opponent, prominent members of either army will declare this to their underlings.
  • J-WITCH Series: After Cedric gains the Mantis Khan mask, he orders his minions to stay away from Tohru, as he wants to settle their rivalry personally.
  • Star Wars vs Warhammer 40K:
    • Right before Aayla Secura's first duel with Inquisitor Tahr Whyler early in the Second Battle of Axum, Tahr orders his daemonhost Jackal to not interfere in their fight, stating that this reckoning would be between him and Aayla alone. Being a daemonhost, Jackal invokes Exact Words to attempt a Betrayal by Inaction later on when Aayla's clone troopers arrive late in the duel to back her up against her opponent.
    • In the third season, Canoness Superior Ishtara Ordane says this to her subordinates right before entering her Battle-Halting Duel with Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin during the later stages of the Second Battle of Axum.
      Ishtara: I will take the lives of these witches with my own blessed hands. Stand back and behold the strength of our Lord and his throne.
  • Stardust (Arad): Documents recovered from EXALT in Mente Materia indicate that Vide ordered other EXALT operatives to avoid any contact with Matt and Lana, as they intended on dealing with those two themselves.

Danny Phantom

  • Facing the Future Series: Agent Alpha, the leader of the Guys In White, declares this after Danny leads an assault on their headquarters.

Dragon Ball

  • In Savior of Demons, Frieza is intent upon being the one to take down Kooler himself.
  • What If Krillin Became a Saiyan?: Krillin asks Goku to let him tackle Nappa in a one-on-one fight. After he takes him down, Goku expects that they'll work together against Vegeta; however, Krillin is overwhelmed by his Saiyan instincts firing up and demands that he get a chance to fight Vegeta solo, much to Goku's surprise.

Invader Zim

  • For the Glory of Irk: When Xia sends out the Control Brain-controlled Irkens against the resistance, she orders that Vero be left for her to kill personally.

Jackie Chan Adventures

  • Queen of All Oni: Tarakudo orders Ikazuki to stay out of his duel with Hiruzen. When it appears that he's on the losing end of that matchup, however, Ikazuki defies his wishes and leaps in to assist.
  • Queen of Shadows: During the First Battle of Awaji, Tsume declares this towards Yasashi.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

  • Bad Future Crusaders: Lightning Dust orders Crimson Sky and Twitch to stand down in this fashion when they discover Rainbow Dash in Ponyville.
  • A Future of Friendship, a History of Hate: After her first fight with Fury Cross, Rainbow Dash demands that her friends let her take him on solo when she's got the chance. They refuse, insisting she can't handle him without help. Turns out they're right about that.

Persona

Pokémon

  • In the Ancienverse, Aidan and Astrid tell Bethany and Christopher this when they come across Tolbert, as both wish to avenge Lionel and Rocky.
  • Common Sense:
    • During a battle against all of Team Rocket's Pokémon, Charmander refuses to let Ash send in any reinforcements, wanting to take the whole team down solo. It takes a Rage-fueled Flamethrower, but he succeeds.
    • In the following chapter, Koffing takes on Squirtle in order to keep him from bursting Team Rocket's balloon. When James tries to send in Mankey for help, Koffing protests. This leads to Koffing evolving into Weezing due to his resolve.
    • As in canon, Pikachu does this at the Vermillion City Gym. Unlike canon, he succeeds on the first go.

Worm

  • A Darker Path: The Rogues' Guild tries to step up and help Atropos face Bastard Son, but she doesn't need it and doesn't want them in danger.
    Atropos: No. This isn't about you three anymore. Thanks for the offer, but I got this.
