Launcher Of A Thousand Ships / Anime & Manga

Go To

  • Aggretsuko: Starting with Season 3, Haida. There's his current Love Interest in Retsuko, his Romantic False Lead Inui for canon interests, on the other side, there's his snarky friendship with Fenneko, which some would like to be more than just friendship, and his Odd Friendship with Tadano, which excited Ho Yay shippers.
  • Levi and Eren both gained this status in the Attack on Titan fandom. It's not hard to find them shipped with almost every other character in the series.
    • Hange could definitely be considered this too, especially on Tumblr.
  • Fans of Battle Spirits Shonen Toppa Bashin have paired Smile with basically everyone in the cast, and sometimes even in crossover pairings. There was at least one fansite out there dedicated to pairing him... with himself. (To be more specific, either with his more evil manga counterpart, his younger self from a flashback scene, or sometimes in a threesome with the both of them.)
  • Beastars: It's much, much easier to list the characters that don't have at least decently popular ships with Legosi than the ones that do, to the point it's become a bit of a meme. Not even incest ships are off the table for much of the fanbase, much to the dismay of the rest of it.
  • Berserk: Guts gets shipped him with every female character under the sun; from regular ladies like Farnese to succubui like Slan of the God Hand. Guts even gets shipped with blatantly underage girls like Jill and Schierke despite him being a decade older than them, not to mention the Foe Yay Shipping with Griffith or worse still Donovan (the man who raped him as a child). Guts and Griffith, at the very least, has some subtextual prevalence, though it's one-sided on Griffith's part.
  • Black Butler:
    • If the character has a pulse, chances are fans have shipped them with Sebastian Michaelis. You can find him paired with Ciel, Grell, Alois, Claude, Maylene, Finnian, Bardroy, Tanaka...
    • And if the character is male and has a pulse, Grell will be shipped with them due to her own FanGirl tendencies. The exception being Madame Red, who is even stated by Grell to be the only woman she ever loved
    • Ciel himself has been shipped with many characters, more than even Sebastian.(The fact that he generates a lot of Hoyay with people like Sebastian, what with all those innuendos, and whatnot the Undertaker, Lau, Sohma, Snake, Arthur, Alois, Claude, McMillan, and Edgar most definitely helped with this). He's not a slacker in the heterosexual department either (usually Elizabeth, Ran-Mao, or Doll).
  • Black Cat: Train Heartnett. Three women with canon crushes on him, (Saya, Rinslet, Kyoko.) one man, (Creed.) Fan-Preferred Couple with Eve, and if he's not paired with one of them, he's usually with Sven.
  • Black Clover: Thanks to being the liked main character whose interactions with other characters are important to their development and a Clueless Chick-Magnet, Asta is shipped with many characters in the series. Most commonly: Noelle, Mimosa, and Rebecca because the three have canonical crushes on him, Yuno for being childhood friends and rivals, and Nero for their close bond and her presence as his companion since the beginning of his journey.
  • Black Lagoon:
  • Bleach: Toushirou Hitsugaya, Rukia Kuchiki, Orihime Inoue, and Ichigo Kurosaki. There are fics pairing them with their siblings, their friends, their mortal enemies, and people they've never even meet. While they do have areas they specialize in, (Ichigo: Ho Yay, Orihime: Foe Yay Shipping, Rukia: Crack Pairing, etc.) the consensus is: if a character exists, sooner or later they will be paired with one of these guys.
  • Blue Exorcist: Rin Okumura is frequently shipped with his twin Yukio, Bon, Shima and his brothers, Mephisto and Amaimon by Pixiv users. Incidentally he is voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto who also voiced the aforementioned Ivan...
  • Bungo Stray Dogs: Dazai Osamu. Dazai/Chuya and Dazai/Atsushi are the most common, but he's also been paired off with Akutagawa, Kunikida, Odasaku, Ango... even some rarepairs like Dazai/Ranpo, Dazai/Fyodor, and Dazai/Tachihara.
  • A Certain Magical Index:
  • CLAMP:
  • Code Geass: Lelouch is paired up with everybody, including his siblings, best friends, enemies, acquaintances, and people he's probably never even met. And sometimes with more than one at a time. Occasionally one comes across selfcest for poor Lelouch, where he's paired up with Zero.
  • Cross Ange: Ange has been paired with almost anybody, which she's usually at the top of the relationship of, though there are ones that do have her at the bottom. She's been paired with Hilda, Sala, Tusk, Jill, Salia, Zola, Momoka, Vivian, Julio, and Embryo.
  • Darker than Black: Hei is shipped with anything that has a pulse, up to and including the cat. Studio BONES did practically bait them into it — you know you've got a ship-magnet on your hands when he's written into slash fics in canon.
  • Death Note:
    • Everyone wants to bang Light, and to be honest there is evidence for many of them (just check out the Death Note Ho Yay page). On the het side there is Misa and Kiyomi who are both in canon love him. There's also Naomi who he charms into giving her real name. On the slash side there is the largest pairing of all, Light and L, as well as Mikiami, Near, Matsuda and even Mello and Matt who never met him in person but were following him. Then there is the squicky ones like Sayu and most strangely popular of all, Ryuk.
    • L. While the most popular is of course him and Light there is popular fan theorising that Near's idolising of him is a diluted version of BB's obsession with L, which is also a fairly popular pairing. He's also shipped with Aiber (who he has a history with) and Matsuda (who fanboys over both L and Light). For the few Het Shippers in Death Note there is Naomi who has discussed in canon if she fancies L, Misa ("I could actually fall for you"), and Wedy. Then there are the cracktastic stories of LxCake, though that too may be canon. And these are just the most popular ones, L has been shipped with everyone in the show, and some characters who aren't.
    • Mello has been paired with quite a lot of people, from his heterosexual life partner (Matt), to his rival (Near), to a woman in whose shower he hid (Lidner), to the girl he kidnapped (Sayu), to his mafia boss (Rod Ross), to people he's never actually met (Light), to just the downright creepy (Light's dad). Mello also gets paired with Zeb his zebra sofa.
    • Near too. Both Matt and Mello, occasionally Linda, the SPK (Gevanni most of the time), Light, Mikami, Sayu, and L.
    • B gets paired up with L (who he is seriously obsessed with), A (his schoolmate/rival), Naomi (who he enjoyed toying with), Mello (who really relates to his problems), Light, Near, Matt (who could be (and has been) seen, in this case, as a sort-of stand-in for A), Linda, Matsuda and Ryuk (who he's never actually met), Believe Bridesmaid, Quarter Queen and Backyard Bottomslash (his victims), and Crossover characters (such as Harry Potter).
    • In Death Note-verse, Genius IQ = Launcher of a Thousand Ships. The two exceptions are A, who despite being a genius has been paired with three or four people at most, and Matsuda, who isn't a genius but has been paired up with everyone of importance in Death Note. Including old men and shinigami.
  • Allen Walker from the D.Gray-Man fandom — protagonists, antagonists, side characters, men, women, robots, you name it.
  • Digimon:
    • Mimi seems to be a perennial. Miyako's frequent crushes and infamous "Mimi fantasy" have turned her into something of one. Digimon Frontier, on the other hand, has The Smurfette Principle firmly in place, which means that Izumi is a Launcher of a Thousand Ships almost out of necessity, since any other pairings among the heroes are Yaoi or Twincest; if that's your squick, you can't participate in ship wars (which doesn't exempt her from being shipped with the Quirky Miniboss Squad's only girl)!
    • Hikari as well; she's been shipped with Takeru, Daisuke, Taichi, Yamato, Ken, Koushiro, and characters from other series. In a Digimon crossover, whenever there's a major male character in the other series who will be shipped with a Digimon character, said latter character is probably going to be Hikari.
    • Myotismon, often with a dose of Draco in Leather Pants for good measure. Aside from original characters, he's also been paired with Gatomon, Kari, Tai, Matt, Angemon, Piedmon, LadyDevimon, Ken, Oikawa, and several others.
    • Daisuke has been shipped with basically every member of his team except Iori. There's Hikari and Miyako, Takeru, Ken, Taichi, and Wallace....
    • Tailmon(Gatomon) got her fair share of this during the first season alone, but by Zero Two it really went up a notch since she was the only female among the main six digimon. Just to name a few, she's been shipped with Patamon, Angemon, Veemon, Wizardmon, Vamdemon, Hikari, Taichi, Agumon, Palmon, Piyomon, Hawkmon, RENAMON...
    • According to other pages, everyone in the rather extended cast of the original 'verse became a free-for-all after Digimon Adventure 02 completely messed with the fan expectations for hookups.
    • In Digimon Tamers, there is Rika Nonaka/Ruki Makino. Every single possibility has a fanbase. Rika/Takato, hotblooded girl and sweet boy who can help each other soften/toughen up, respectively (this is the one with the most character derailment, as Rika often becomes a backboneless Damsel in Distress for Takato to save in fanfic. Most popular evidence: Takato's dream of her in the premiere.) Rika/Henry (Jenrya, Jianliang, et cetera), hotblooded girl and calm, levelheaded boy (most popular evidence: any of the brief moments where she'd try to properly butt heads with him and it didn't work. The balance would do them — mostly her — some good, it's held.) Rika/Jeri (Juri), not just 'cause Girl on Girl Is Hot: Jeri makes a good damsel in distress for Rika, and could be someone she'd take under her wing (the one softens/one toughens dymanic is present in almost every ship for her.) Rika and Renamon — between Renamon's sultry voice and Cute Monster Girl-ness, Girl on Girl Is Hot definitely applies with the two even if Renamon's not humanoid. There's also Renamon's total devotion to Rika, and it clearly going both ways (Rika not being the type to constantly state it, but it's just as obviously there.) Now, as a Digimon and human partner this is expected, but Renamon is by far the most fleshed-out Digimon partner character, so it shows with her that it's every bit as voluntary as it would be with two humans, and not just "the critter follows the human around 'cause that's how an A Boy and His X series goes." (It's considered to be true with all partners in all series, but with Renamon it shows in every episode.) Finally, Ryo Akiyama, only person ever to beat her at the card game, and with a great love of flirtatious banter usually directed at her, with her being annoyed by it all — the best in Slap-Slap-Kiss, every scene in which the two are together are considered evidence; unlike so many of the others, there's no one scene you can remove and many an Official Couple starts out the way they started; Digimon was just never as romance-oriented a series as fandom wants it to be. About the only pairings for her without a fanbase are her and Kazu or Kenta (Those Two Guys, paired with each other or no one.)
    • Henry himself is shipped with Rika (see above), Takato (they've got one really good Ho Yay moment, in addition to the two male leads being the easiest choice for Slash Fic in any series), and Renamon (they have two really good Interspecies Romance-yay moments.) Three seems small, but this cast is smaller than Digimon Adventure. Not shipped with him are only Jeri (Takato's canon love interest who has limited interaction with Henry), Ryo (Rika's arguably-canon love interest who has limited interaction with Henry), Those Two Guys (see above), and the Mons with childlike personalities, or physical characteristics that would make them harder for most to see as a 'ship (maybe he'd get along with deliberately-Zeerust Tin-Can Robot Gardromon, but the question isn't often asked.)
  • Durarara!!:
    • Izaya Orihara. It helps that he professes to be in a Mind Game Ship situation with the entire human race. Izaya/Shizuo seems to be the most popular, though Izaya/Mikado, Izaya/Masaomi, and Izaya/Namie also seem to have a degree of popularity, while Izaya/Anri, Izaya/Shinra, Izaya/Dotachin, Izaya/Rio, Izaya/Either or both of his sisters, Izaya/fem!Izaya, Izaya/Celty and Izaya/Celty's Severed Head (yes, those are two completely separate pairings) are not unknown.
    • There's also a small minority of people who ship Izaya/Prussia.
    • Shizuo too. Apart from aforementioned Shizuo/Izaya, Shizuo/Vorona also is gaining more and more popularity. Other ships include: Shizuo/Tom, Shizuo/Kasuka, Shizuo/Masaomi, Shizuo/Mikado, Shizuo/Anri, Shizuo/Akane, Shizuo/Celty/Shinra and Narita himself confessed that initially he planned to pair Shizuo with Namie.
    • In canon, Kadota (aka "Dotachin") seems to have near-constant presence in both Erika and Walker's fanfics. Kadota is not amused.
Erika: But wasn't Yumacchi talking about writing me and Dotachin in a master-slave relationship? How about this — Dotachin somehow becomes a girl when he gets up one morning, and finds himself in an all-girls boarding school...
Kadota: SHUT. UP. YOU. TWO. AHHHHHHHH!
    • To be honest, Erika and Walker are responsible for perpetuating a lot of the ships with their own otaku fangirl/boy squealings, particularly Shizaya.
Shizuo: I'm off to Shinjuku to kill Izaya...I'll be back
Erika: Oh man this is so cool! Shizu~chan totally has the hots for Izaya! Boy on boy love is so much fun, I love it!
      Rest of Cast: NOT HAPPENING!
    • Mikado has his fair share of ships too. Despite his timid demeanour, he is paired with every cast member too. His canonical love interest, Anri, and his best friend, Kida, are the two most prominent, but there is also a strong following for Mikado/Celty and Mikado/Izaya. The latter is especially focused on by readers of the light novels which also leads to a strong following of Mikado/Aoba and Mikado/Orihara Twins.
  • Fairy Tail: The series could be called a world of ships! Given the large cast, and that many characters are given nice moments with a lot of others, taking a single character and pairing them off with someone from the list is quite common amongst the fanbase.
  • Fate/stay night:
  • Free!: Rin Matsuoka seems to have the widest diversity in ships out of anyone in the series. This is not really a surprise, considering he's the one character who knows pretty much everyone in the cast and is the bridge between Iwatobi and Samezuka.
  • Tohru in Fruits Basket has been paired with everyone — sometimes at the same time.
  • Fullmetal Alchemist:
  • Sousuke from Full Metal Panic! can be paired with every main-ish character (and quite a few side characters). Pairings include: Kaname, Tessa, Gauron, Kurz, Mao, Kalinin, Tsubaki, Nami, Clouseau, Kyoko, Wraith, Mizuki, Zaied, and the insane Police Lady. The story writers didn't make it hard. He's a Sex God.
  • Fushigi Yuugi: Since Tamahome is the one who usually dies for the ship, Miaka ends up becoming this trope's representation in fan fiction.
  • Haikyuu!!:
    • Hinata's ability to befriend anyone makes it easy to ship him with literally anyone, not to mention the fact that shippers dig the height difference between him and all of the other characters.
    • Yachi also gets this because out of all the female characters in the Anime, she's the most "available" due to her age and chemistry with all of the main characters. She is commonly paired with Kiyoko, Yamaguchi or Hinata and pretty much everyone from Karasuno, but also Kuroo, Bokuto and many others.
  • Haruhi Suzumiya:
    • Kyon. Every character in the SS Brigade is paired with him — including honorary member Tsuruya! The fact that most of them like him back doesn't help...
    • Then there's Kyonko who gets anyone and everyone paired with her from both versions, including her alternate self, and then some.
    • Also the girl who tried to kill him twice before getting booted out of the story both times. When the last book comes out, he'll be getting shipped with the anti SOS brigade, too. Urgh. (Given that one of them is a New Old Flame of sorts...)
  • Hayate the Combat Butler: You have five seconds after finishing this sentence to name a female character with whom Hayate isn't paired.......That's what I thought. Doesn't hurt that most of them are canon. And the guys aren't always exempt from that.
  • Hetalia: Axis Powers...oh, where to begin? Its fandom thrives on the immense potential for historically justified and just plain cracktastic pairings amongst the loads of Moe Anthropomorphisms to such an extent that nearly every character gets at least three popular ships. And then there are the true Launchers of a Thousand Ships who have at least three times that number of ships:
    • In Japanese fandom, Japan gets paired with everyone. 'Everyone' including the "well, that does make a fair amount of sense" ones like England, America, Greece (which might actually be the most canon one on this list), Italy, China, and the "where did THAT come from?!" ones like Switzerland, Norway, etc. He's not nearly as much of one in the English fandom, where England and Greece are the only ones he's paired up with any regularity, but he has definitely gotten fics with America and [insert any other Asian nation here]. For an idea of how much this trope applies to him, this Japanese fanart shows only the more plausible ships with him. It still takes a while to get through all of them.
    • In Japan, England is paired with everyone second only to Japan. The most popular pixiv tags for him are England/Japan, America/England and France/England. Spain/England, Prussia/England and surprisingly China/England are quite popular with over 1k artworks each. Other ships such as Germany/England, Prussia/England, England/Italy, are also fairly popular, beating the popular ship (in the west) Prussia/Canada in the number of artworks. There are even tags for very obscure couples, such as England/Taiwan, England/Ukraine, England/Iceland and England/South Korea. Basically anyone with a name. As for the English-speaking fandom, well, he's shipped regularly with America and France. And repeatedly with Spain, Prussia, Canada, and Japan. With Hong Kong, India, and Portugalall of whom are canon Nation-tans (or in HK's case, City-tan) that simply get much less focus. Oh, and this ain't just limited to canon characters. Although there are a number of writers and blogs dedicated to pairing England with everybody, it's a lot more prominent in Japan.
    • The English-speaking fandom does the same with America as the Japanese do to Japan, to a slightly lesser extent. 'Slightly lesser' meaning that there's more of a tendency to pair him with select characters that have the most canon/historical basis with him (England, Russia, and Canada) than with apparently random characters. Keyword being slightly: you still see him being paired every now and then with the likes of France, Japan, Prussia, Vietnam, etc. He's not as much of one in the Japanese fandom, naturally, but considering that there are tags on Pixiv for pairings like America/Spain, America/Taiwan, and America/Seychelles...
    • Russia, who wants to become one with everybody in canon. He's shipped with Lithuania, America, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, China and lately Vietnam and Thailand...and that's not even remotely all of the "historical" pairings.
    • France: He gets some with everyone, and some fanworks just list France/Everybody as one of the included pairings.
    • Even Canada qualifies. He's most commonly shipped with France, America, and Prussia but is also frequently shipped with Cuba, England, and Russia (and Ukraine is rising in popularity as a het option for him), and there's more than one fic for crack pairings like Canada/Poland and Canada/Switzerland. There's fic for Canada/Turkey, and fanart for Canada/Taiwan. One fic takes Canada's Launcher Of A Thousand Ships status to its logical extreme, shipping him with the entire cast, one at a time.
    • Lithuania gets shipped with Estonia,Cuba, Australia, Holland, Russia, Poland, America, Belarus...he's Europe's bicycle. He also tends to be Uke a lot, which is part of the reason.
    • Don't forget about Italy! He is shipped with Germany, Japan, Prussia, America, China, Russia, Switzerland, England...the possibilities are endless!
    • Being two of fhe most popular female characters, Seychelles and Hungary are shipping magnets with both male and female characters.
  • Hyodo Issei of High School D×D fame has been paired with literally almost everyone in the cast. The fact that he's a Harem Seeker probably helps and the author hasn't really been discouraging it. This is to mean mean Even the Guys Want Him is in full effect for him as he's paired with his group harem (Rias, Asia, Akeno, Koneko, Xenovia, Irina, Rossweisse, Ravel, Ophis, Kuroka, Le Fay, Kunou), Kiba, Gasper, Vali, Grayfia, Serafall, Bennia, Sairaorg, Saji, literally any named character has been paired with him. Not even him becoming an Official Couple with Rias has stopped this sentiment.
  • Inuyasha:
    • Kagome, who gets crossed over and paired up with so many characters from so many different fandoms that it would be impossible to list them all (usually the character the author wants to hook up with), due to her being the character easiest for a teenage girl to relate to. Then again, she can travel through time, so one's Willing Suspension of Disbelief can be stretched just a wee bit here.
    • Ditto for Sesshomaru, due to him being the most lusted-after male character, girls tend to pair him with whichever female character reminds them of themselves (usually Kagome).
    • About half of the Sonic the Hedgehog-InuYasha crossovers on Fanfiction.net ship Shadow and Kagome. Never mind that he's a genetically engineered super-hedgehog from space. And part alien. and barely over three feet tall. To be fair, his attitude is a lot like Inuyasha's at times.
  • There are fanfics pairing Jolyne Kujo from Part 6 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure with nearly every character in her arc (including Jotaro (her father), Emporio (an 11-year-old boy), and Pucci (the villain)). She's also paired with characters from other arcs. "Helps" that she's one of the only female protagonists in a cast full of err...not so pretty boys.
  • Yu Ishigami from Kaguya-sama: Love Is War has been shipped with Fujiwara, Hayasaka, Miko, Tsubame, Kaguya, Osaragi, Maki, Onodera, Karen... Pretty much the only recurring girl that he isn't shipped with is Kashiwagi, since she's the only one that's actually in a relationship. Fans have been known to joke that he's secretly the protagonist for a harem manga.
  • Kill la Kill: Ryuko has been paired up with her nemesis, her other nemesis, her best friend, her school uniform, her teacher, every member of the Elite Four...
    • On the guys side, Uzu Sanageyama. Spreading his pairings from Ryuko, Mako, Omiko, Satsuki, all the way to Inumuta, Iori, Gamagoori, and even Aikuro.
  • Kuroko's Basketball:
    • Kuroko is shipped with almost everyone in the manga: from Kagami, Aomine, Momoi, Kise, Midorima, Akashi, Murasakibara, Teppei, etc. Practically Kuroko X the entire cast.
      • It regularly ends up being a OT3 or more. It's all very complicated. He is usually shipped with the entire Generation of Miracles by fans who can't decide.
    • As female characters are rare in this manga, Aida Riko and Momoi Satsuki are pretty much shipped with anyone.
  • Atsuko "Akko" Kagari from Little Witch Academia is this, as she's frequently been paired with Diana, Andrew, Sucy, Amanda, Lotte, and even Professor Ursula.
  • Love Live!: All nine members of "µ's". Some pairings are more common than the others, but you can look for any combination of two (or three) characters, and there will be at least a couple of fanworks about it. One of them x Everyone is also a option, with any of the girls at the center of the harem. Then the members of A-RISE are sometimes added to the mix. There is even one or two pics shipping one of the girls with a character from Love Live! Sunshine!!. Sunshine is even worse as every combination has at least one major Ship Tease from official materials.
  • Love Live! Sunshine!!: One specific character in particular stands out for being the worst offender for holding this title: the new transfer student from Tokyo, Riko Sakurauchi. Not only is she shipped with literally every single member of Aqours, she's also paired with other characters from different series outside her home show proper, whether they're in or outside the ''Love Live'' franchise in general. Even Chika's pet dog gets a ship with her. It's a common joke among the fans that Riko is Sunshine's resident lesbian shipping bicycle thanks to this.
  • Lyrical Nanoha:
    • Having befriended many people, Nanoha has this distinction in fandom, though Fate is pretty up there too in amount of pairings.
    • Erio Mondial will lay all the women to compensate for the failures of every other guy in the series. On the other hand, Yuuno Scrya, the resident Demoted Extra, is very flexible as long as it isn't Nanoha or Fate. Nanoha ''and'' Fate, on the other hand, are okay.
    • Similarly, Vivio enjoys love from all sides as well. It is particularly ironic that, as the daughter of the greatest shipwar trigger in the show, so far there have been no shipwars regarding Vivio. Though this may partially be because Vivio lacks any pairing fanservice, and thus is still fair game for even the most hardy of shippers.
    • With Vivid Memories ongoing, shippers are mostly aiming for the girls in Vivio's age group. Two of which are the same as her: reincarnates of ancient Belkan Lords.
    • The only qualification for you to be shipped with Hayate is that you must be female and you must exist in-universe. The former depends on how much you want to stick with the Les Yay theme of the show (though even if you do, Zafira is still one of her knights), and the latter depends on your opinion on Cross Overs.
  • Alviss from MÄR. The fandom isn't huge, but the boy has been paired not only with every kind of OC imaginable but with his teammates and the villains from the show. Especially because every single pairing has been hinted in canon. Even the evil overlord has attempted to kiss him in the anime, and it was a kids' show, with not even a drop of blood.
    • Ginta as well, the most common pairings for Ginta are with Snow, Alviss and bizaarely Phantom, but he has also been paired with Babbo and Jack as well. Interestingly, while the show itself also teases him with Dorothy, the fans dont often take to that pairing, (Probably because their either busy shipping her with Nanashi or shipping Ginta with Snow).
  • Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Athrun Zala. He even has five girls after crushing on him in canon (Lacus, Cagalli, Lunamaria, Meyrin (these two are sisters) and Meer). And if we count fanwork of all kinds, you can add Kira, Nicol, Miguel, Yzak, Heine...
  • Mobile Suit Gundam 00:
  • Mobile Suit Gundam Wing:
    • Though canonically straight, the Gundam pilots are mainly shipped with each other, due the show's avid yaoi fandom. Duo is often decpited as the "uke", or a playboy in fanfiction and subsequently, is the one who's shipped most often. While Heero is often paired off with characters outside the Gundam Wing universe.
    • Duo's girlfriend, Hilde, gets shipped almost as often as he does, because in fanfiction, she's portrayed as being so kinky and desirable that all the pilots (including Zechs) wanna bang her. So you can find fics pairing her with all of them, ranging from monogamous, to threesomes; many of which are M-rated. Whereas the yuri fandom ships her with Relena.
  • Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun has Mikoto Mikoshiba, AKA Mikorin. On the official fanbook's pairing poll, right after the three official pairings are: Sakura & Mikoshiba, Nozaki & Mikoshiba, Mikoshiba & Kashima, and Mikoshiba & Hori. Of particular note is that he is shipped with characters of both sexesnote , and the canon gave no Ship Tease to any of these pairings.
  • My Hero Academia: Midoriya, the main character, especially due to his likable personality making him a good companion or foil for everyone. While canon hints he's having a crush on Uraraka, in fanon he has been paired with nearly everyone he's interacted with (and no shortage of those he hasn't). Uraraka and Tsuyu are the most common partners in the heterosexual ships. While in the homosexual ships, Bakugo and Todoroki are the most common ones, and sometimes he's also paired with All Might, Shinso, Kirishima, Bakugo's mom etc. Iida is surprisingly rarely paired, despite being one of his closest friends, probably because he's too busy shipped with Uraraka so Midoriya can get paired with other character unless it's obviously the One True Threesome of Izuku/Uraraka/Iida which has been a staple OT3 since the series began. And if you're in the mood for some heterosexual and/or homosexual pairings in the opposite direction, have no fear because female Midoriya is a thing and gets just as much shipping for both categories. There's even this tendency within fanworks themselves — the word "Dekubowl" refers to every classmate in 1-A trying to get with him.
  • My-HiME and My-Otome:
  • My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!: Catarina gets shipped with practically everyone else in the show—not only the "official" otome-game male suitors, but also all the girls, her adopted brother Keith, and the title character of Arte. By some fan rankings, Catarina/Maria actually surpassed the extremely popular lead couple of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, the second season of which aired at the same time as Villainess.
  • Naruto:
    • Sakura and Hinata appear to have this ability to be shipped with anyone. Besides the usual Sasuke/Sakura, Naruto/Sakura and Naruto/Hinata pairings, you also have stuff like Kakashi/Sakura, Itachi/Sakura, Sai/Sakura, Neji/Hinata, Sasuke/Hinata, Shikamaru/Hinata... and they have even been shipped together.'
    • On the male side, in non-yaoi pairings, there are many fanfics and Doujin putting Shikamaru with Ino, Sakura, Hinata, Temari, Shiho, and Kurenai his teachers's lover, along with many others. Sometimes, all at once. There probably isn't a single person in the entire show with whom this guy hasn't been paired. That's because he is almost always fighting against girls. Mix that with his slightly misogynist personality and he becomes a Sex God.
    • Naruto himself has been shipped with nearly every named female in the series (and a lot of the males, too), sometimes all at once. Like ships that include the Nine-Tailed Fox! And then there's FemNaruto who ends up paired with most of the male AND female cast. Or gets paired with people from other series.
    • Kakashi seems to get paired with everyone in the show too. Kakashi/Iruka is the top pairing in japanese poll.
    • Sasuke occasionally gets this treatment as well. Besides the normal Naruto/Sasuke and Sakura/Sasuke, there are too many Sasuke ships to count. Although most Sasuke pairings tend to be yaoi.
    • Tsunade has also been been paired with several other characters, usually ignoring the fact that she's a 50-something using ninja magic to appear 20 years younger. While she's had a canon love interest in Dan, who's been dead years prior to the start of the series, she's most usually paired with Jiraiya (who canonically had a one-sided crush on her during their younger years), Orochimaru, the Third Hokage (who's both her jonin-sensei and a Dirty Old Man), Naruto (often ignoring the huge age difference and the fact that they're technically cousins), Shizune, Sakura, Ino, Hinata, Mei, and Killer Bee (who openly lusted after her big rack in canon).
    • One might believe the Akatsuki was one big orgy. Can't decide which combination of Deidara, Sasori, Itachi, Hidan, and Pain works? Why not pair them all together!
    • Out of the "next generation" characters in Boruto, Sarada and Inojin seem the most popular with shippers. Sarada shares her parents attractiveness and has a well-liked personality, while Inojin is just so Bishōnen that it makes up for his vague personality. They've been paired with Boruto, Himawari, each other, and various others. Himawari isn't much better as she's been shipped with Inojin, Shikadai, Sarada, her own brother Boruto, and a few other characters.
  • In Negima! Magister Negi Magi:
    • Negi. Although the majority are justified as roughly 90% of females he meets develop crushes on him. And when we say 90%, we're talking about a series that introduced over 30 characters in chapter one. At this point, he's kissed half of them. Somewhat lampshaded by Chamo, who appears to see Negi as a Launcher of a Thousand Ships. He's somewhat biased, as he has financial incentive to make Negi go for as many as possible; he earns several thousand Ermine Dollars every time Negi kisses a new girl.
    • Invoked by Paru describing Yue's situation, gaining a respectable female harem. Yue is not amused by this commentary.
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion:
    • Shinji Ikari has been shipped with every available member of the cast in an attempt by fans to make him happy by putting him in a stable, loving relationship, including Asuka, Rei, Misato, Kaworu, Hikari, Kaji, Ritsuko and Pen-Pen.
      • Many spin-off and games, such as Shinji Ikari Raising Project, even introduce additional love interests, such as Mana, Mayumi, Aoi, Kaede, Satsuki and Maria.
  • No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular!: If you can name a major character, chances are someone has shipped them with Tomoko. Initially, she was shipped with Yuu and Tomoki (both of whom she had at least some hints of attraction with), but when the manga introduced significantly more girls with varying levels of interest in Tomoko (from Vitriolic Best Buds to Lonely Together to Stalker with a Crush to Twice Shy to Odd Friendship to Senpai/Kohai), that more or less opened the floodgates, to the point that many have half-jokingly called it a Harem Genre work. Yuri, Nemo, Asuka, and Ucchi seem to lead the pack in the overall fandom, and a good chunk just go with the "all four" route.
  • One Piece:
    • Note that, all the One Piece ships are 100% non-canon, as the author has stated that there won't be any romance for the main characters (The Straw Hat crew) or most other characters as well, since this is not that type of manga.
    • Nami really gets this more than any other female character, she's apparently the shipping bicycle of the Straw Hats as the main four male characters Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and Usopp are shipped with her; as well as other males such Law, Kidd, Aokiji, Enel, Paulie, Drake or as a joke Jozu since Nami has a Money Fetish. Even Arlong is paired up with her, even though he made her life a living hell for 8 years, killed her mother, and sabotaged her chance to win her village's freedom (plus he knew her since she was a 10 years old). Also plenty of LesYay shipping with Nami and Vivi, Robin, Kalfia, Wanda, Reiju, Smoothie, and Carina.
    • Luffy is the very definition of this trope!
    • Sanji. Any female no matter what species is fair game to be shipped with Sanji, the list includes: Nami, Vivi, Robin, Kalifa, Keimi, Ishilly, Viola, Carrot, Cosette, and Pudding. Some people even ship Sanji with his own sister Reiju which is all kinds of gross, and of course the huge Ho Yay shipping with Luffy, Usopp, but most of all, Zoro.
    • Robin gets a lot of this. Mostly with Zoro, Sanji, Luffy, Lucci, Aokiji, and Law. But luckily, most of the fandom have come around to her relationship with Franky, which holds some partial fact in the canon as Oda said they're the mother and father of the crew.
    • Happens to Zoro, Ace, and Trafalgar Law as well. Zoro himself is beginning to get a harem of his own. He is commonly shipped with Nami, Robin, Sanji, Luffy, Law, Mihawk, Perona, Hyori, and Tashigi, but mostly with every crew member, even Chopper and Brook.
    • Shanks gets shipped around a bit too, just not as much as the other listed characters.
  • The entire main cast of Ouran High School Host Club. To the point that there are Everyone/Everyone fics that aren't crack.
  • PandoraHearts:
    • The fandom somehow already figured that everybody is hot for Oz and/or Gilbert. Pairings like Oz/Gil, Alice/Oz, Sharon/Oz, Echo/Oz, Gil/Alice don't surprise anybody anymore, so the fandom went a step further. And so pairings like Oz/Oscar, Gil/Break, Gil/Vincent (it's actually almost canon — at least on Vincent's side; also, trope inverted, as Vincent is the one to obsess over his older brother Gil), Oz/Elliot, Gil/Jack, Gil/Oscar and Oz/Gil/Alice came to life.
    • At this point it's safe to say that everybody can be paired with anybody with how connected the plot is becoming. Luckily, the abyss can send people through time to quell most fandom issues of age difference if they want to be moral about everything.
    • In general, the author seems to try for this with the series overall. If two characters have spoken, there is almost always shipping material for them. (Some may need thicker Shipping Goggles than others, but you can really find a fic for anything anymore.) If there hasn't been enough, it's coming. Couldn't see where Gil/Break was coming from? Cue Gil leaving his beloved master to be Break's left eye. They don't even have to have had real interaction. Wondering where the fair-sized fandom for Break/Elliot could come from? The character guide makes specific note about the latter deeply admiring the prior.
    • Moreover, Break is easily at least as much a Launcher as Oz or Gil anymore, if not moreso. It isn't too uncommon to see Break paired with Sharon, Reim, Gil, Oz, Alice, Alyss, Cheshire, Vincent, Lotti, Elliot, Rufus, Shelly, Cheryl, or even Emily; and a few others are rare but also present.
  • Pokémon: The Series:
    • Ash has been paired with everything from every female lead, to every male lead, to Pikachu, to Bayleef, to Latias (who if you want to get technical, is actually tied for the furthest anyone's ever gotten with him with Serena.) Have some actual numbers: As of October 2011, the list referenced below contains 495 named ships involving Ash. Plus 11 involving Ashley (Ash as a Wholesome Crossdresser). Plus 13 involving Ashachu (Ash as a Pikachu (it's canon)). As a general rule Ash will be shipped with pretty much every female character in the franchise whose anywhere near his age or what fans think his age should be, and quite a few who are notably older than him. His retirement as the main lead has not changed this tendency either.
    • Of his female companions, Dawn has the widest array: In addition to Ash himself, there's also the recurring males Conway, Nando, and Kenny (who is strongly implied to have a crush on her in canon), her rivals Zoey and Ursula, as well as other characters Ash has traveled with, such as Misty, May, and Iris. Special mention goes to Paul - despite them having little overall interaction in canon, they are among the most popular ships that don't involve Ash, receiving the nickname "Ikarishipping".
    • Name any two characters — Pokémon included — in the anime, and not only will there be a shipping fanbase, it will have a name! And it's not just limited to living characters! There is one called DownBoyShipping that consists of Misty's hand and Brock's ear! Hot Skitty-on-Wailord Action is inevitable really.
    • Ash's mother Delia also gets this treatment. (Just look at all of the "Who is Ash's Father" theories in WMG) The three most popular choices are Professor Oak, Giovanni, and Silver from Pokémon Chronicles, but there are lots of other possible candidates. Delia's past friend Spencer Hale from the third movie is often shipped with her, at least in the past, but is never considered an option for Ash's father.
    • Pikachu is this to Pokémon ships and even several human/Pokémon ones as well. Ash, Chikorita, Buneary, and Meowth are the most common options. It doesn't help that for a decade Pikachu had an Ambiguous Gender, which only helped him in the shipping department.
  • Pokémon Adventures:
    • Red is usually shipped with Yellow, Blue, or Green; however, he is also shipped with various other Pokedex Holders. In addition, he's gotten support with other Gym Leaders, such as Misty (who does have a crush on him) and Sabrina (who admitted she'd like to see him older).
    • For that matter, Yellow herself, perhaps to an even greater extent. She's been shipped with Red, Blue, Green, Gold, Silver, Bill, and Wally, among others.
  • Pretty Cure:
    • Tsubomi Hanasaki, the main character of HeartCatch Pretty Cure!, has been shipped with every single one of her teammates in addition to several supporting characters characters and a few of the villains. Itsuki, who is canonically popular with the ladies, also receives this treatment.
    • Doki Doki! PreCure's lead character, Mana Aida, has moments of Les Yay with all of the other girls in her team in addition to one of the villains and her own fairy. Naturally, she's shipped with all of them, and jokes about "Mana's harem" abound within the fandom. One of the other Cures, Makoto, is this to a lesser extent — she's usually shipped with Mana, Princess Marie-Ange, or her own fairy partner, but it isn't unheard of to find fanart pairing her off with one of the other girls.
  • The Prince of Tennis:
    • Echizen Ryoma. Just. He can be shipped with everyone. Tezuka, Fuji, Eiji, Oishi, Momoshiro, Kaidou, Atobe, Yukimura, you name it. It usually ends up being ot5 or ot6 with Tezuka, Fuji, Genichuro, Yukimura and Atobe all fawning over him. Among the small pool of female characters, Sakuno Ryuzaki (that is, when she's not being shoved aside to allow the boys to "do their thing" or being used as an author's Possession Sue).
    • Akaya Kirihara from Rikkai can be paired up with ANYONE from Rikkai and have it work. Outside of Rikkai he is also frequently paired with Hyoutei's Hiyoshi, Fudomine's Kamio and Tachibana Ann as well as Shitenhouji's Shiraishi as of the sequel.
  • Minamoto is this in canon in Psychic Squad. His utterly Moe charm is an absolute magnet for girls (even though he's really clueless when it comes to dating) and the males in the cast can't keep their eyes off him. The fangirls are absolutely gaga over him.
  • Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Madoka Kaname has been shipped with Mami, Homura, Sayaka, her long-haired self from the opening animation... Just to put this into perspective: this is before even half the show's (12-episode) run has passed. Shippers work quickly nowadays. It's not particularly surprising or weird, given that Madoka/Sayaka's joked about in-show, Homura is very strongly implied to be in love with Madoka, and the ending is screwy enough for Madoka/Madoka to be Foe Yay Shipping.
    • Mami is also regularly shipped with all the major characters, including Kyubey and, most ridiculously, Charlotte (the witch who eats her alive). The sequel movie makes Charlotte her beloved pet/child.
    • Sayaka gets shipped with the other four girls, and adds Hitomi and Kyousuke to the mix. Some even toss Nagisa in there.
    • You might think Homura's obsession with Madoka would make her avoid this trope... nope. Homura/Madoka is the most popular pairing, but fanart and/or fanfics can be found pairing her with any of the other magical girls, Hitomi (a secondary character), her devil form, etc., often based on a single canon interaction. The whole show is pretty deep into Gotta Ship 'Em All territory.
  • Ranma ½: Ranma has this problem and is shipped with EVERYBODY. And not even that, when he's a girl with a male heart you can expect the obvious. Shipping Ranma with everybody isn't even restricted to his own universe! Ranma ½ is crossovered a lot in fanfiction. That means more characters to use which in turn means more characters to ship Ranma with, regardless of gender. He's the ultimate fandom bicycle. Everyone and we do mean everyone gets a ride.
  • Reborn! (2004):
    • Tsuna. There was Spanner/Tsuna doujinshi on sale merely weeks after Spanner's introduction. Japan moves in mysterious ways. And Tsuna is joked to be the fandom bicycle as well. Funnily enough, it's actually rare to see fan merchandise of Tsuna with any of the canon love interests (the four girls, to be precise). The magical Tsuna bicycle starts getting more outrageous when one realizes that there are fandoms that support Squalo x Tsuna and Bel x Tsuna.
    • Gokudera Hayato gets paired with not only every guardian, but with the TYL!Guardians as well (oh parallel world sex), and with multiple enemies AND paired with the girls. (Including his sister. Disturbing yes?)
    • Chrome's paired with freakin' everyone: Mukuro for obvious reasons, Tsuna because she kissed him when they first met (which still hasn't been explained), Hibari because he saved her life once or twice, Ken thanks to his Tsundere attitude towards her, Chikusa because he's on the same team as her, MM thanks to Foe Yay Shipping, Mammon because of what he could do with his Combat Tentacles, Julie on account of the kidnapping, etc etc. These all make some sense and at least have had vague screentime. It starts getting weird, however, when it starts being characters she's never talked to or even talked about. Prime examples include Enma, Genkishi, Bel and for some reason Levi...
    • Haru, who even has a fanclub on DeviantArt specifically titled the "AnyonexHaru-Club".
  • Revolutionary Girl Utena: Akio. Akio will sleep with everyone; Akio probably has slept with everyone. There's Anthy, too, considering she's the Rose Bride and it's her obligation to act as a fiancée to whoever wins the duels. Utena herself doesn't escape this.
  • Rurouni Kenshin: Kenshin, given the levels of Ho Yay, gets this treatment in fandom; ditto Sano.
  • Sailor Moon:
    • The eponymous character and her canon love interest are paired with nearly everyone and a huge group even in canon. Depending on the version, Usagi is somehow connected romantically with Mamoru, Ali, Demando, Haruka, possibly Rei (actually all the Inner Senshi are rather ambiguous when it comes to Usagi, Rei is just the one the anime made the most obvious), Manga!Galaxia and Seiya. Mamoru has Rei, Beryl, Hina, En, Black Lady. That's not even counting the crushes and fandom pairings.
    • Being the daughter of said couple, Chibi-Usa has quite a few love interests as well. Helios and Perle are canon, Kyuusuke is implied to have a crush on her before he got together with her best friend Momoko (similar to Umino and Naru in relation to Usagi), and there are quite a few who think she has something more than friendship with Hotaru.
    • Motoki would also count in his anime and manga incarnations as Usagi, Makoto, and Minako all have crushes on him in both canons, while Ami has a crush on him in the manga and Rei has a crush on him in the anime. Plus his fiance, Reika.
    • Ami is easily one of the most popular characters, so it's no surprise that she's been shipped with every other Senshi, though Ami/Makoto is particularly popular. For Het fans, there's also Ami/Mamoru, Ami/Ryo, Ami/Shingo, Ami/Zoisite, Ami/Nephrite and Ami/male!Taiki.
  • Seraph of the End: Yuu and Mika. Not only with each other but with other characters both male and female. To be fair, its not like the canon material made it hard.
  • Shaman King: Yoh, Anna, Ren and Hao are the center of all ships. Also Ren, Hao, and Horohoro are always the ones you see get shipped with every type of OC known to man.
  • Soul Eater has five, depending on the taste of the shipper:
  • Aqune in Spider Riders gets this a lot. There's Aqune/Hunter, Aqune/Buguese, Aqune/Magma, Aqune/Igneous, Aqune/Grasshop, Aqune/Corona, Aqune/Mantid, Aqune/Brade, and she's very often paired with Original Characters as well.
    • Hunter certainly rivals her in this department, with Hunter/Corona, Hunter/Aqune, Hunter/Sparkle, Hunter/Igneous, Hunter/Magma, Hunter/Buguese, Hunter/Shadow and of course Hunter/OC.
  • Symphogear has three relatively ironclad pairings (Hibiki/Miku, Kirika/Shirabe, Tsubasa/Maria)... and then there's Chris, who doesn't have an easy designated partner. Consequently, whoever Chris ends up with is entirely up to the preferences of the writer, whether it's Hibiki/Chris, Tsubasa/Chris, a One True Threesome with any or all of the above, or even an OC or O.C. Stand-in.
  • Tamagotchi protagonist Mametchi has been shipped with almost every female character (and some male characters like Kuromametchi) in the show more than a few times. Mametchi x Lovelitchi and Mametchi x Himespetchi are particularly common, since the former pairing have a deep platonic bond and the latter pairing involves a character who has a very intense crush on Mametchi.
  • Tenchi Muyo!: Despite it being the poster child for harem comedies, Tenchi ends up getting this treatment from fans. This is in a genre that named the Tenchi Solution and he still ends up with pairings outside it.
  • Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann:
    • Simon appears to be one. The most common pairings include Nia, Kamina, Yoko, Viral, Rossiu, himself, and any combination thereof.
    • The cast must be having one big, hot-blooded orgy behind the scenes...even amongst the heterosexual options, for example, a notable solution to the Kamina/Yoko vs. Kittan/Yoko dilemma is to just let her have both of them. As far as solutions to Shipping Wars go, this fandom seems to take the route laden with the most kink and the least nitpicking.
  • Tiger & Bunny fans are fond of these ships; Antonio/Ivan, Keith/Ivan, Pao-Lin/Ivan, Karina/Ivan, Barnaby/Ivan, Yuri/Ivan, Scarf-tan/Ivan...Guess which one of them is the launcher here?
    • Though Kotetsu is overwhelmingly paired with Barnaby, it isn't unusual to see people cop to shipping "Everyone->Kotetsu."
  • Ken Kaneki of Tokyo Ghoul. Not only is he commonly shipped with Touka, Tsukiyama, Hide, Nishiki, Amon, Yomo, Rize and Uta but you can also add in Ayato, Roma, and Eto and, well, everyone.
  • Even though he only appears in the manga, Livio the Double Fang from Trigun is possibly the most shipped character in the series. He's been paired with Vash, Wolfwood, Jasmine, Milly, Meryl, Midvalley, Elendira, and even Brad.
  • Tsurune: Minato Narumiya, the main protagonist, is shipped with practically every other guy in the cast. This is in no small part thanks to most of them having conspicuous fixation on him, except in the case of Masaki who is the target of Minato's adoration instead.
  • Kuran Kaname from Vampire Knight has been shipped with Yuuki, Zero, Aidou, Ichijou, Haruka, Ruka, Rido, Shizuka, an unnamed woman and more. The canon Incest makes this even more easy to do.
  • When They Cry:
Ronove: If you wish for us to dictate, of course we will undertake that task. However, we will add our own demands to the scenario as well.
Battler: I'll agree to anything!...Huh? Why are you giving me those creepy looks?
    Virgilla: ...RudoBato. GohBato. AmaBato.
Ronove: Pukuku! You mustn't forget RonoBato.
  • Wolf's Rain: Tsume, who's been shipped with everyone but the lady in a coma and the drunk old man, but who can really blame them? Kiba also gets around in the fanfics...often painfully so... Tsume is most often shipped with Toboe, which may or may not be canon.
  • Yo-kai Watch: Katie gets shipped with Nate, Eddie, Bear, Kyubi, Hailey Anne, and her friend Alex. It doesn't help that Katie is a Dude Magnet in canon (with the first four canonically crushing on her and Nate marrying her as an adult).
  • Yona of the Dawn: The titular protagonist falls under this trope within the fandom. She's most commonly paired with her canonical Love Interest Hak; but it's not uncommon to see her paired with Jaeha, Shinah, Kija, occasionally Zeno note , Yun, Lili, and even the series main antagonist, Su-won.
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom has tons of Launcher of a Thousand Ships aimed toward each other:
    • Being one of the most popular characters in the whole continuity simply due being the epitome of badass looks, it is no surprise that prime Jerkass Seto Kaiba has been paired with almost every single character in the fan fiction.
    • Yugi and his partner Yami Yugi (Atem) is just as bad as him, being paired with almost anyone else in the community. No surprise given that they are the main characters of the show.
    • In the female compartment, Anzu/Tea is one of the most likely examples you would find when you cross into any het/yuri shipping out of the thousands of Slash Fic you would find throughout the community.
    • Judai from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX definitely qualifies. He has been paired with Asuka/Alexis, his rival Manjoume, his not-so-hetero life partner Johan, his idol Yugi Muto and even with his duel monster (which was canon with Yubel) and even Yusei, who doesn't even live in the same time period.
    • Fan would be hard-pressed to name one guy from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds that Yusei isn't paired with in fanfiction.
    • Yuma has gained this status in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL fandom. JUST name one character that wasn't shipped with him.
    • From Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V, Yuzu is often shipped with Yuya and his counterparts, to the point that she has her own harem. She is also commonly shipped with Masumi. Minor ships with Kurosaki (which is somewhat Squicky since her Xyz counterpart is his sister), Reiji, Serena, Sawatari, Halil, Olga and Dennis are also there.
    • There is a lot of art and fanfiction for Yuya, as well. The most common targets for him aside from Yuzu are Yuto (especially after their fusion), his bromantic foil Gongenzaka, the tried-and-true hero/rival ship with Reiji, Sawatari, Dennis, and his -gazer Magicians. Thankfully, both Yuya and Yuzu are type 2 launcher due to their young age.
    • Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS: Yusaku continues the trend of the main protagonists being this. He has already been shipped with Aoi, Emma, Shoichi, Jin, Ai, but especially Revolver/Ryoken Kogami. Just minutes after he was revealed, Takeru Homura a.k.a. Soulburner was added to the list and when he isn't shipped with Yusaku in a more traditional manner, Fan Art either portrays him as a Third Wheel or uses him to form an OT3 by adding him to almost any of the previous listed pairings, most often ones being Yusaku x Revolver x Takeru and even Yusaku x Jin x Takeru.
