Suck my balls!

Terrance and Phillip: Asses of Fire is the cinematic debut of the Canadian comedy duo Terrance and Phillip. It was released in the Summer of 1999.

Asses of Fire gained notoriety for its vulgar humor, which outraged Moral Guardians so much they not only tried to ban the film, but ordered the two leads face capital punishment after a child died trying to emulate a scene in the film. To this day, it remains on of the most controversial movies released by a Canadian studio in the late 90s.

Tropes

  • Bittersweet Ending: The film ends with Terrance suffering third-degree burns from setting his own fart on fire. Nevertheless, the two buddies seem to be unfazed by this predicament.
  • The Musical: Asses of Fire launched the hit song "Unclefucka".
  • Ruder and Cruder: The Terrance and Phillip series was aimed squarely at children. Asses of Fire is so profane, it necessitated an R rating. Downplayed, as a show where the leads fart on each other was inevitably going to be a bit crude to begin with, but the creative swearing and the film's climax where Terrance sets himself on fire are new additions.
  • Wham Line: Right within the first minute of the film. Terrance and Phillip are Vitriolic Best Buds, but Terrance really pushes it when he calls Phillip a pig-fucker. It's the first instance where the F-word is ever used, and it sets the stage for further profanity.
