Now kiss.

The way the characters bond with each other to understand them better and escape the buildings together allows plenty of room for subtexts.

  • Being the only two prominent male characters of the main cast, Neil and Apollo get a pretty notable amount of subtext in only one chapter.
    • The first time they meet each other, their relationship comes off as this since Apollo enjoys teasing Neil a little too much despite (or due to) his distrust towards him. Even after the truth is clear, Apollo still takes great joy in teasing Neil anytime possible.
    • In the scene where the trio needs to jump on the bookcases to enter the library, Neil gets scared and reluctant. After jokingly threatening him about what will happen if he failed, Apollo suggests carrying Neil in his arm. Neil immediately refuses while blushing hard.
    • The same scene, when Neil succeeds in landing on the bookcase, Apollo asks why would he be so distrustful of himself, only to receive silence as answer. Apollo changes the subject, praising Neil and offers him a headpat.
Apollo: “Do you want me to give you a pat on the head?“
      Neil: “I’m not a dog!“
    • Neil always seems to be the most concerning towards deeds related to Apollo, like when he stays back to check Apollo’s status through the graves and is absolutely overjoyed at the aspect of him surviving. He also greets Apollo in a "trying not to run up and hug him on the spot" emotional suppression manner when the younger finally returns.
  • Throughout the entire 3rd chapter Selene is basically gushing about her childhood friendship with Luna. It becomes blatantly clear how close they were. Knowing that, their parting scene at the end of said chapter becomes incredibly suggestive - it almost makes you expect them to kiss each other.
  • When Selene meets Diana at the end of Chapter 4, she's very eager to see her and immediately calls Diana "cute". In a sneak-peak at the bonus chapter, we can even see that Selene places her bed right next to Diana’s; and when we say "right next", we mean there is no visible gap between the two beds.
  • Cynthia was willing to betray Black Gear at the cost of her life, just because she wanted to help Luna escape a life that made Luna unhappy.
