  • For some fans, the triumphant return of Optimus Prime/Elita One. It helps that Elita's willing to do the things that Optimus is too honorable to do himself.
  • It's worth mentioning how dark things are. The characters, at least in the first episode, act noticeably more somber. With Bumblebee having come out a little more jerkish, and wishing to remain neutral in the battle. The other Autobots want to put a bullet in his head so he doesn't compromise them by revealing the location of their base to Megatron. But Optimus?
  • In season 2, we see that Elita still tries to live up to Optimus ideals as seen where she frees decepticon prisoners, even echoing Optimus MOST famous line of 'Freedom is the right of all sentient beings'.
    • We also see her kindness comes full circles as the decepticons she freed help saved Elita and her team from Project Harvest.
  • Dinobot's final moments at the end of season 3 episode 3. Also crossed with Tearjerker.
    • Having failed to retrieve the Golden Disk, and only able to steal back the Matrix of Leadership from Megatron, he lays down slowly dying from his wounds, regretting that he couldn't retrieve the Allspark and end the war. Speaking to the Matrix, he acknowledges he is unworthy of it, being not pure sparked or wise or heroic like the primes. But he has at least tried to live his life as well as he could, with honor, begging the Matrix for help. It seems to answer him, drawing Optimus Prime to Dinobot so he can give him back the Matrix.
    • Dinobot simply tells Optimus to always remember why the Matrix chose him.
    • When the other Autobots and the Maximals converge on their location, Dinobot admits to Optimus Primal he has thought of defecting to the Maximals thousands of times, and asks if he would have been accepted. Primal tells him yes, and jokes he would have made a terrible Maximal. Dinobot agrees, and dies with a smile.
    • Later in the following episode, as Primal watches the sparks of the departed returning to the Allspark, he spots Dinobot’s hovering near him before completing its journey. Primal simply tells the soul to Maximize letting Dinobot know that he is considered a member of the Maximals.
  • At the end of Kingdom, after the two factions have stopped the fighting for now, they erect a statue to memorialize those who have passed over the course of the series. But not just to big name characters. The statues depict cybertronians utilizing the "Reflector" and "Cog" bodytypes. It's for everyone who has died over the course of this war.
