- Jack taking pity on Eric when he puts together that his old man had never given him the "Birds and the Bees" talk before. Instead of discussing that, he tells the kid about how physical love is the easy part of a relationship, and loving someone with your heart is what really matters.
- U.S. and Eric finally saying "I love you" to one another, with U.S. promising to give him an extra week to visit next year; one with Jack, and one with just the two of them. D'awww!
- From the same scene, Bates corrects Jack on calling him U.S. and says he's allowed to call him "You Ass" instead, perhaps recognizing his own faults.
