- The ED of the anime series received notable praise for how heartwarming and sweet it was, especially the parts which show Emma and Noir's friendship as children, which really sells why she's so crazy about the guy.
- Episode 6 of the anime featured very little of the typical harem or ecchi antics of the series — largely being about the friendship between Noir and Tigerson, as well as Tigerson's original friend. It's considered one of the best episodes in the series for this reason.
- In Episode 10 of the anime: during the trip to the hot springs, the girls of the class say they trust Noir will protect them from the other guys who are, without even bothering to hide it, perverts who want to see the girls naked. Noir not only does stop them, even if he needed help from Elna Stongs, but was willing to put himself at so much risk since he spent almost all his LP doing so. As a reward for his efforts... he's allowed to take a bath with the girls. He's being blinded by a towel during the entire thing, of course, but almost everybody can agree he deserves it.
- Noir's Big Damn Reunion with Olivia at the end of the finale. Having struggled and suffered to free her from the death chains, Olivia meets him in an open field and merely opens her arms, giving Noir permission to embrace her and cry his eyes out, both out of relief and from realizing that Olivia was in great pain while captive despite her cheerful behavior and never told him anything. From Olivia's perspective, this was also payoff for her second chance at mentoring an earnest young adventurer, after her first was killed when she didn't take his training seriously.
