Heartwarming / Super Mario Galaxy

• The Lumas' Heroic Sacrifice at the end of the game is both this and Tear Jerker. After all Mario had done for them, they don't think twice to return the favour.
  • Not to mention the ending, where the universe is reborn and everyone Mario has encountered in his journey (even his enemies) is celebrating this rebirth. Mario's revelation is just the icing on the cake.
    Rosalina (VO): All new life... carries the essence of stars... even all of you...
    Mario (upon understanding those words): Welcome! Welcome new galaxy!
  • If you manage to get all 120 Power Stars, the bonus scene after the credits will likely have you crying tears in a heartwarming way. Rosalina gives her thanks and promises to watch over you and she takes her leave on her ship.
  • We see Mario's Luma at the very end of the game, living on a small planet while it is hinted that the other Lumas will soon be reborn.
• Rosalina is made of this:
  • Upon first meeting Mario, she lends Luma to aid him (i.e. the Spin Attack, which Mario uses throughout the game).
  • After Mario completes Gateway's Purple Coins, she gives him the Red Star so he can access the Comet Observatory.
  • The ending of the storybook: Young Rosalina accepts the Lumas as her new family and becomes the Mama they were looking for all along.
• The scene where Mario flies with the Grand Star with Peach in his hand, set to the uplifting Good Egg Galaxy theme as they leave the Galaxy Reactor.
