Heartwarming / Scott Hall

  • Say what you will about Scott Hall and the troubles he's had, but never let it be said that he can't be a class act - witness his surprise appearance on The Jerry Springer Show for a terminally ill fan.
    • Even more special, during the segment, Hall says he legitimately gave his Intercontinental Championship to the ill fan, the one he's supposed to take care of for travel purposes and even live television. When he called Vince later on, telling him what he did, he was expecting to be chewed out. Vince, However, told him he did the right thing and ordered him a new championship.
  • In January 2013, Diamond Dallas Page and Jake "The Snake" Roberts both reached out to Scott Hall over the phone at a time when Hall was having serious financial issues, bouncing in and out of rehab and about ready to give up altogether (video here). DDP and Jake convinced Hall to come down and stay with them as a guest in Page's home and get in on the same program Page was having Jake in in getting back into shape and detoxed. The fact that Jake had told Hall that he had been clean for over sixty days was the dealmaker. Just a couple days later, Scott flew down to Page's home in Atlanta and has been staying with him ever since, positing periodic updates on his condition and even undergoing a hip replacement surgery that he says has left him pain-free for the first time in years.
  • His induction into the WWE Hall of Fame 2014 class, but in particular the closing segment of his speech when the rest of the The Kliq joined him on stage. It's especially poignant considering Hall was unable to attend Shawn Michaels' induction three years prior due to fears of falling off the wagon.
  • Heartwarming in Hindsight: At Wrestlemania X Hall retained the Intercontinental title in his famous ladder match with Shawn Michaels. During the festivities for the event he posed for a picture with a certain young fan holding his Intercontinental belt. Flash Forward 22 years to Wrestlemania 32 and that little boy is now known as Zack Ryder, and he just won the Intercontinental Title himself in a ladder match. Hall, who was backstage for the event, asked to pose for a picture with Ryder, this time holding Ryder's newly won IC belt. The proud and overwhelmed look on Ryder's face to be able to repeat this moment couldn't be explained in words.
  • As tragic as his death in 2022 due to complications from surgery was, the fact that Hall passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family as opposed to being found dead and alone in some motel room with a bottle of booze as many once feared, all the while promotions, wrestlers and fans around the world paid tribute to him, speaks to how much Hall was able to turn things around after hitting rock bottom and redefine his legacy in the last years of his life.
