  • Norman standing up for Mary when Toomey harasses her, and him firing Toomey for mistreating his motel.
    • For that matter, Mary proclaiming to Toomey that Norman is "better than you'll ever be, fat boy" when Toomey speciously insinuates that Norman is receiving sexual favors from her, as it shows she is willing to stick up for Norman even before she fully trusts him, rather than speaking against Norman behind his back or even simply ignoring Toomey's allegations.
  • Mary comforting Norman with a hug when he's still tormented by his past and afraid to have his alternate personality surge again (picture).
  • Mary was sent in by her mother Lila to act as a Honey Trap for Norman and instigate another Sanity Slippage within him by manipulating his emotions. However, she grows attached to Norman and develops real feelings for him.
  • In both this film and Psycho III (albeit to a lesser extent in the latter film, where Norman is actually guilty of most of the killings he is blamed for), Sheriff John Hunt repeatedly defending Norman's innocence and making every effort to prevent him from being unfairly harassed for his past, demonstrating his unwavering belief in giving even reformed serial murderers a second chance.
  • In all of their interactions, it's clear how much care and compassion Dr. Raymond has for Norman (as he probably does for all of his other patients).
