• Very minor, but in Episode 10, Brock comes by to rescue Ash and Misty from a trap after having been gone for a while up to that point. Ash exclaims that he missed Brock, and Brock casually notes that he missed Ash, too.
• In Episode 15, Misty genuinely praises Max for being pretty cool, making her the only person in the entire episode not to denigrate him.
  • Also from this episode, Brock comes by to join the group and offer them his Brock Crotch Stew, once again causing Ash to immediately declare how much he missed him.
• It's played for Black Comedy, but a Fridge Heartwarming moment could be applied to the ending to episode 19—Mikey's Eevee evolves into an Umbreon by accident. How does Eevee evolve into Umbreon? By maxing out its affection for its trainer at night. Though it ultimately caused Mikey some grief (enough to make him kill his brothers), his Eevee evolved because it loved him.
