- In Chapter Four of the Room, you walk through Hugo's memories of befriending the Guardians and how they were all so hopeful about making the world into a Utopia. Foul-mouthed Jerkass Dedan even tried to dry Hugo's tears and cheer him up, despite being in pain from a cow bite.
- The Judge when he offers you, The Player, a chance to stop The Batter before he purifies the rest of the world. Sure, it may not have resolved anything at the end, and too much has been lost, but the fact that the Judge, who had every right to condemn you along with the Batter, was merciful enough to give you the chance to redeem yourself.
- How openly dedicated and loving the Judge is to his brother, Valerie, tragic though the outcome may be. Hardly an encounter where he's mentioned goes by without him being addressed as "my dear brother."
