• For all of Karswell's evil deeds, he truly does love his mother, and his explanation and defense of his actions to her are both oddly touching and quite sad. It's made both better and worse by the fact that Karswell got into Black Magic in the first place to make a good life for her. For that matter, she loves her son and tries desperately to save him from his inevitable end.
