Heartwarming / Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812

Go To

  • Pierre's confession to Natasha about how he'd marry her if he was single and worthy enough. Notable in that these are the only spoken words in the show.
If I were not myself, but the best, handsomest, brightest man on earth, and if I were free, I would get down on my knees this minute and ask you for your hand, and for your love.
  • Balaga downright stating he doesn't drive his sled for money, he does it "cause I like [Anatole and Dolokov]!" The very next line in the song?
Whole Ensemble: "And we like Balaga too!"
  • During "Letters", it's sweet seeing Mary attempting to patch things up with Natasha in spite of their rocky first meeting. It's even better if you know that in the book, they do become friends later on.
    Dear Natasha,
I am in deep despair at the misunderstanding there is between us
Whatever my father's feelings might be.
I beg you to believe that I cannot help loving you
He is a tired old man and must be forgiven
    Please, come see us again...
