• In the first chapter, Quill and Filter are heading to Ponyville. Quill makes an offhand remark about him being a killer (elaborated on in the next chapter), which is apparently a bad memory for Filter, who becomes much more downcast. Quill, seeing this, quickly moves to comfort his friend.
  • The line he uses even becomes one of the taglines for the fic. "This is a new start for us."
• The fact that Quill and Filter can argue and fight as if they're mortal enemies, but deep down, they're actually very good friends.
