As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.
Even in such a bleak and dark world as the one the game takes place, you can still find some moments to feel warm about.

  • Some of Roland's interactions with the Patron Librarians can be really heartwarming, especially considering the trauma of their previous life, both as Sephirah and humans prior to it. For example: Roland helping Malkuth deal with her stress by doing breathing exercises with her.
  • Shi Association: Yujin being the most hurt of the whole is due to her shielding her fellow associates. This being either responsability because she is the one targeted by Thelma, or just being a great boss that cares is enough to warm up to her. This is extra nice in the end when all of Shi is brought back but Thelma is still dead. So Yujin may rise to be the Shi 1 boss.
  • Xiao's key page story is a mix of both this and a Tearjerker, as it expands on how Xiao's relationship with Lowell developed time.
"I thought I would never care about him since he was so different from me, but my expectations weren’t quite right. I wanted to learn more about him, and I wanted to know what this emotion I felt was. And I thought I could perhaps become a better person if I saw what he was seeing together. If there’s one thing I realized, it’s that relationships between people always start from such small curiosity."
  • During the Liu Association arc, Angela and Roland wonder at the connection that Xiao and Lowell had, to the point that Xiao was willing to go on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge and manifested EGO to avenge Lowell. While at this point Angela attests that she doesn't quite understand the feelings of love specifically that spurred Xiao to do this, she admits that she'd also react extremely negatively to the idea of Roland being permanently taken from her at this point. To the point she all but admits she'd likely go on a rampage herself if she lost him for whatever reason.
  • The revelation on the final of Floor of Religion that all old guests are alive and can be revived, and then in the end Angela be willing to sacrifice herself to bring everyone back. While there are some monsters and madmen in the mix, that means many of the guests we felt bad for killing or just fell in the Library due to bad luck will come back and have another chance.
  • The finale of the Tiphereth Floor Realization sees the Magical Girl Quartet make an honest-to-god Heel–Face Turn and return to their old ways for one final battle against their fallen counterpart, the Jester of Nihil. Seeing the Queen of Hatred, Knight of Despair, King of Greed and Servant of Wrath using their powers for good after two games of being antagonists is extremely heartwarming, and fits in with the theme of Tiphereth's conversations to Roland about humans being able to stand up and grow no matter what happens to them. It also acts as a nice finale for the four girls and their story, showing that even if their lives ended in tragedy, they could make up for what happened and pass on as true heroes in the end.
  • Similarly, the Chesed Floor Realization has you initially fight through the abnormalities based on The Wizard of Oz: the Scarecrow Searching for Wisdom, the Warm-hearted Woodsman, The Road Home & Scaredy Cat and Ozma. In the final phase against The Adult Who Lies (a.k.a. the Wizard of Oz) the travelers lend you their power and show that they found what they were searching for, such as the Cat using his courage to protect the others and the Scarecrow using his wisdom to see through the Adult's illusions.
  • The voice in the end of the Realization of General Works saying some simple words Angela always wanted to hear:
    "I'm sorry... and Good Job".
  • There is something heartwarming during the end of the game when the Library has to fight the Head, Eye, and Claw, where Gebura jumps in to save Roland and then Binah after her. It goes to show that no matter what beefs Gebura and Binah had in their past lives they are willing to team up for the sake of their found family.
  • The Golden Ending ends on a surprisingly happy note given the setting. Despite all of their deep-seated resentment, Roland and Angela end up forgiving each other, being especially telling in Angela's case where she basically willingly lets goes of all the progress she made since the start of the game, freeing all the Guests that the Library gathered, which reverts her back into a machine in the process. However, Roland is able to save her from disappearing completely at the last second and decides to help her with her bucket list of seeing the world. While the Head DOES send an Arbiter and Executioner into the Library, resulting in both it and its Nest getting ejected into the City's Outskirts, Roland and Angela have found new goals — Angela aims to direct her anger at the Head who perpetuates the vicious cycle of the City, and Roland aims to write a book about the City with Angela's help.
