Heartwarming / Jingle All the Way

Go To

The 1996 film:

  • Howard and Jamie bonding after Howard promise he would get Jamie a Turbo-Man doll for Christmas. (However, the good feeling of that moment was ruined when his wife asked him if he bought it already since it has been sold out.)
  • At the diner, Howard reminisces to Myron about how he once built a clubhouse for Jamie. Despite its flaws, he still loved it.
  • Howard's willingness to risk certain doom by using an experimental jetpack (that badly injured the previous wearer) to save his son from Myron-as-Dementor.
  • At the end of the movie, Jamie gives Myron the Turboman figure, saying that he's got the real Turboman so he doesn't need it.
  • Ted gets mad at Howard for stealing Johnny's Turboman. The implication is that Ted, despite being a sleazy philanderer, does care about his son.
  • As Ted drives Jamie, Liz, and Johnny to the Christmas Day parade, Jamie asks if his father will be at the parade and Liz gently tells him not to count on it. Johnny puts his arm around Jamie and tells him sincerely, "Hey, Turbo Man's gonna be there, and you can always count on him." Even though Johnny might be a bit spoiled with the way Ted dotes on him, he's a genuinely good kid trying to cheer up his neighbor friend. Jamie even smiles appreciatively.
  • During the parade, when Howard (as Turbo Man) finally gets his hands on the doll he's been searching for all day, he gives it a small hug before triumphantly holding it up and yelling "YES! YES!!!"

The 2014 film:

  • All Noel wants for Christmas is for her family to be "together as one."
