  • Kim Shin's Establishing Character Moment. He stops a boy running away from his abusive stepfather, puts a vase in the way so the stepfather trips over it, gives the boy lunch, and tells him the right answer to a maths question he got wrong.
    • Later, we learn that the boy grew up and became a lawyer who helped a lot of people. Kim Shin visits him on his deathbed to tell him he's so proud of him.
  • In Episode 6, Wang Yeo has to reap a long line of unpleasant people. The final soul he reaps, a blind man, calmly, quietly accepts his fate, walks to the door - and is greeted by his guide dog, who died years ago:
    "Happy? Is that you?"
"He's been waiting for you all this time. He wouldn't go without you."
  • Kim Shin, Wang Yeo and Deok-hwa buy Eun-tak a cake after her exams.
  • Wang Yeo tells Eun-tak the truth about the sword. When Kim Shin confronts him he explains why he did it.
Wang Yeo: I don't want you to die.
    • After Kim Shin storms out Wang Yeo is surprised to realise he's actually grown fond of him.
  • Wang Yeo is the only person who remembers Kim Shin after his apparent death. When they reunite he tells Kim Shin, "I'm glad you're back."
  • Kim Shin tries to cheer up Wang Yeo by bringing him food, and he even cut the apple slices to look like bunnies to make Wang Yeo smile.
