* The look of shock on Ser Alliser Thorne's face when John names him First Ranger. That Jon isn't abusing his position to appoint him Latrine Captain or giving him some other odious task shows his honor, and Ser Alliser knows this.

** Their embrace is shot to echo Jon and Robb's farewell all the way back from season 1, symbolizing how the two are [[BloodBrothers more than friends]].

* Assuming Varys failed to get any letters out about Jon being Rhaegar and Lyanna's trueborn son and no one aware reveals the truth, at least some of Elia's honor is preserved by not revealing that Rhaegar had their marriage annulled, which would have meant losing her status as the future queen consort to Lyanna their children possibly being declared bastards had Rhaegar lived.

* Bran's initial meeting with his court is, in stark contrast to the plotting and scheming of previous seasons, one that emphasizes ''actually making Westeros a better place''.

** In additon to Luwin trying to convince Theon that redemption is still possible he immediately attempts to save him from his men. It shows that Luwin cares for Theon as unconditionaly as he does for the Starks.

*** The above is actually due to a meta example: Kerry Ingram, who played Shireen, suffers from brittle-bone disease. The awkward hug that Stannis gives his daughter was actually Stephen Dillane trying very hard not to injure Ingram.

** A meta moment occurred on a Youtube clip of Aemon's death and funeral; after the death of Aemon's [[Creator/PeterVaughan actor]], a comment memorialized him with the words "and now his watch has ended". And just as in the funeral scene, [[TearJerker most of the 70+ replies have responded with the same.]]

** The actress complimenting Arya's eyebrows also works on a meta level if you've watched Maisie Williams' Website/YouTube video about her New Year's resolutions, where she reveals that for most of her life thus far she's been very insecure about her looks, especially her eyebrows, but is now going to stop wishing she could be more classically beautiful and work with what she has.

** We can already see Jon's soft spot for his younger siblings. Early in the conversation about the direwolves, Jon picks up one of the pups, asks Bran if he wants to hold it, and just passes it right off to him (basically just like 'Here, have a puppy')

** Benjen riding in to Winterfell to find Jon practicing on a training dummy. In short order, he proves himself very much a loving CoolUncle, giving Jon a big hug and sympathising with him being left out of the festivities, before trying to actually make him ''think'' about his desire to join the Night's Watch. Even though, as First Ranger, he knows the Wall is badly pressed for me, he still wants Jon to be absolutely sure before he joins up.

* Jon and Dany's [[GoodPeopleHaveGoodSex love scene]]. It starts off with Jon [[{{Adorkable}} hesitating before knocking on her door]], then Dany slowly inviting him in her room. The next scene of them cuts to both of them on her bed, and as they break off their kiss they both pause to stare into each other's eyes before kissing again. Where once these two were political enemies, now they are truly something more.

* The fact Jon doesn't hesitate to charge into a monster-infested forest when he thinks a child is in danger.

* Tywin protecting Tommen during the Wedding gave hints that the boy could be his MoralityPet. We see more signs of it here, as he gently gives him a lesson in statecraft and his duties as king. Of course, he's doing this while Cersei is in the Sept mourning her son and is incredibly insensitive when he rubs Joffrey's failures while he's laid in state.

** For bonus points, Tommen did the complete opposite of what his brother [[TheButcher Joffrey]] [[KillEmAll would have done]] if he were in that situation.

* Tyrion designing a saddle so the crippled Bran can still ride a horse.

** The fact that Hot Pie becomes a SupremeChef baking pies in a quiet wayside inn. ''Game of Thrones'' is almost [[MemeticMutation memetic]] for its tendency to put characters through the wringer, but he is probably the only character ([[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters of many]]) in the whole series so far who has exited the story [[EarnYourHappyEnding in a content, non-violent way]].
