For once, there's a happy ending for both the humans and the animatronics (well, one of them, at least).

    Base Game
  • Gregory and Glamrock Freddy's relationship. Just everything about it is so wholesome and heartmelting, even when it veers into heartbreaking during sad points. He is so caring and protective of Gregory that it reaches Papa Wolf and Parental Substitute levels.
    • Freddy does everything he can to help Gregory, from carrying him in his stomach hatch (something he wasn't totally willing to do at first because it wasn't designed for that) to making excuses to Vanessa when she confronts him on Gregory's whereabouts. He goes above-and-beyond in protecting this poor kid from the Pizzaplex's worst.
    • Gregory's safety and health is Freddy's top priority. Freddy diverts on their way to an exit in the utility tunnels so that he can get Gregory to a first-aid station, even risking getting caught by Vanessa in order to make sure Gregory is okay.
    • Gregory was only using Freddy as a hiding place at first, but he starts to come around to Freddy as the game goes on, even calling out for him when he's alone and scared.
    • And of course, Freddy starts calling Gregory by an Affectionate Nickname, "superstar".
    • The whole Parts and Services section really solidifies how close these two have gotten in a short amount of time. Gregory braves first the Endos in the Warehouse and then the risk of Freddy malfunctioning to get in and reattach Freddy's head; already the kid's willing to risk his life to save Freddy. It's implied, at the end of the previous hour where Moon was dragging him off, that Freddy might have pushed Gregory into the recharge station to keep Moon away from him, followed by apparently being able to see Gregory looking in the Parts and Services window before lying to Vanessa's face that he doesn't know where Gregory is.
    • When Gregory is trapped in a security room and has no choice but to drop down a vent through the floor, Freddy leaps up and opens it with his bear hands and then reaches up to catch Gregory in his arms as he jumps down. When Freddy saves him, he's grateful to see him and for saving his life. After being a bratty and Mouthy Kid most of the game, it's nice to see how far he's come to trust and appreciate Freddy's help by thanking him and even humbly apologizing when he couldn't figure out what he was told to do out of fear of being scolded (like a parent would to a child). But Freddy dismisses it and instead figures out another plan with what they've got.
    • Gregory also returns Freddy's kindness with his own little moments, such as when Freddy is having an existential crisis seeing a bunch of endoskeletons and pondering about his own identity and purpose. Although Gregory might not understand the gravity of the situation, he tries to pull Freddy out of his dread by saying he's just a kid and too young for that kind of introspection and instead helps him abandon the topic by saying he shouldn't think too much about it because it would be bad for his psyche and programming.
    • In the good endings, Freddy either sacrifices himself to save Gregory, or he manages to overcome his battery issues and leaves the PizzaPlex with Gregory. Either way, Freddy does everything he can to protect and help Gregory get out of the PizzaPlex, by whatever means necessary.
    • It gets better when you take into account the one-star ending's implication that Gregory may have been living on the streets, and his never bringing up any family throughout the game. It's possible that Freddy is the closest he has ever had to a dad, making the endings where they escape together just more heartwarming.
  • Sun, while they come off as hyperactive and annoying, truly does care for Gregory. They try to keep him safe in one spot, excite him with various proposed activities (even if they're more fit for a toddler), and even panics when he switches off the lights, knowing full well that their alter ego, Moon, may hurt him. It is believed by some that they kicked Gregory out of the Superstar Daycare for his own safety, and alerted security to take him away so that he wouldn't be attacked by Moon again, not knowing that the other animatronics are out to hurt him as well.
    • Also, as a cute bonus, if you distract Sun then run and hide in the playground tubes, they will cry over having lost you.
  • The relationship between Freddy and the other bots:
    • Freddy doesn't stop caring about the other animatronics despite the others constantly hunting Gregory, insisting that something has to be wrong for them to even try harming a guest. He worries over his friends when he finds out Gregory has been upgrading him with their parts, asking if Roxanne is all right after Gregory gives him her eyes. He also tells Gregory to say hello to the DJ Music Man, saying he's a "nice fellow".
    • It's also implied that they care for him on some level, as during the end of the intro we see a brief cut of Chica rushing over to check on Freddy when he glitches and collapses onstage.
    • Before that, in a blink and you'll miss it moment (made even less noticeable since she's out of focus) when Freddy starts convulsing Chica looks up from her guitar at him, clearly concerned. It's heartwarming that these two, the only remaining incarnations of the original Fazbear Gang, are as close as they ever were.
    • This is also supported by Freddy's line if the player approaches Bonnie's closed stage with him nearby — he says that he doesn't come up to Bonnie Bowl anymore, because he misses Bonnie. The level of sadness in his voice suggests they were very close friends.
      • The only character to accuse Freddy of breaking the rules and helping Gregory is Vanessa, a human. The other animatronics don't seem to suspect a thing, even if Gregory climbs into Freddy in front of them. Freddy thinks the other animatronics have a good reason for acting differently, and they seem to extend the same belief towards Freddy.
      • The only possible exception is Moon, who will check Freddy's chest hatch for Gregory. Even then, Moon only does so at the end of the hour seemingly as a last resort, and nothing indicates that Moon blames Freddy for Gregory being there.
    • When Moon realizes that Freddy is unconscious, immobile, and badly damaged, it stops what it was doing (chasing after naughty child Gregory) and immediately takes Freddy to Parts and Services, which is basically the hospital for animatronics. Considering that Freddy is big and made mostly of metal, if Moon had continued to hunt Gregory and left Freddy there, then Gregory would not have had the means to take Freddy for repairs. Moon also probably summoned Vanessa to complete the repairs, as she was the only human employee in the building capable of doing so, and Moon had no reason to think that Vanessa would just ditch Freddy halfway through repairs. Moon was probably trying to help Freddy.
  • At the point where you're given the option to stay or leave, Freddy will express remorse when he realizes that the disappearances will still happen if nothing is done, showing just how different he is from the other animatronics. When you choose to leave, Freddy sounds sad, but understands you need to get out of the building. When you choose to stay, Freddy actually sounds ecstatic, happy to have Gregory around for another hour.
  • After the initial hostile encounter with DJ Music Man where you turn off his Bouncer mode, you can find him again near the dance floor, fully activated, but completely benign. He's just DJing like he would normally, and his smile looks far more genuine, to the point where he comes across more like a full-on Gentle Giant than he does a monstrosity. Even LetsPlayer 8-Bit Ryan, who calls Music Man his phobia, thought it was oddly cute.
  • Monty has a new line where he shouts "RUN, RUN, RUN!" to Gregory. Granted he does this while he's about to kill you, but given that the tone seems strangely sincere about wanting Gregory to get away, as opposed to taunting or vicious. Given what we know about how the bots are acting, is Monty Fighting from the Inside and genuinely freeing himself from the corruption just long enough to try to warn Gregory about what will happen if he's caught?
  • The 3-Star Golden Ending:
    • Vanessa grumbles to herself while searching for Gregory that she hates dealing with kids, believing Gregory to be a brat for making her search for him after hours. She also resents Freddy for helping Gregory. If Gregory saves her from Glitchtrap, then she opens the main door for him and Freddy, and they all leave together. She is then shown eating ice cream with Gregory (presumably her treat) and hanging out with them. Considering Gregory is indicated to be homeless and sleeping on the streets in the bad ending, it makes this one even more heartwarming with the strong possibility that the kid finally has an adult to look after him (or, at the very least, buy him ice cream) and possibly help him maintain/rebuild Glamrock Freddy.
    • The Golden Ending is heartwarming in another way too. The Vanessa we meet during the game is heavily influenced by Glitchtrap and Not Herself. By defeating Glitchtrap, Gregory and Freddy save her and presumably the other animatronics (who will return to normal now that Vanny isn't feeding them attack codes). To top it all off, it vindicates Freddy's belief that something must be wrong for the PizzaPlex to be so dangerous and doesn't require him to hurt anyone permanently to protect Gregory.
  • Moon uses its wires to "swim" through the air. Moon's idle animation also has it doing a little dance while it waits in place. Those behaviors are oddly cute, considering how creepy Moon is most of the time.

    Ruin DLC

Teasers and Trailers

  • This teaser for the upcoming "Ruin" DLC, while it doesn't depict a very heartwarming scene, does reveal something that can at least inspire a sense of hope: Chica is still alive! Yes, she's even more badly damaged than before, but she's still alive and standing! For almost half a year up to this reveal, fans were left to assume that she and her fellow Glamrocks had perished in the fire during the True Ending, despite being Brainwashed and Crazy, so seeing her alive can definitely come off as a relief to many, especially since it means there's a chance that Monty and Roxy survived as well, and that it's not too late to save them. And if fans are correct in guessing that Chica is no longer being controlled by Afton, and will serve as the player's helper like Freddy in the main game, then that makes it even better!
    • The official trailer for the DLC confirms that, yes, all three animatronics had survived. And though, sadly, Chica still seems to be in what's left of Afton's control, Roxy doesn't seem to be in that regard anymore, not even being hostile towards Cassie when she puts her hand on her favorite animatronic's shoulder.
    • The trailer even confirms Cassie to actually be Gregory's friend, and something had happened beforehand to get them separated before the events of the first game. It's extra heartwarming to see that Gregory could call on Cassie to help him truly escape the Pizzaplex, showing that they could overall be True Companions.

Main Game

  • It's a small touch, but Cassie's first encounter with an animatronic - being Chica, who's barely functioning by this point - shows how differently she reacts from Gregory. During the base game Gregory showed no real remorse about disassembling the animatronics to power up Freddy, while Cassie is audibly horrified to see Chica's condition.
  • At the end of the Superstar Daycare section of the DLC, Cassie is able to give the Daycare Attendant a happy ending by merging the Sun and Moon personalities. The resulting persona, Eclipse, wishes Cassie a happy birthday and promptly takes her to the daycare's exit. The last we hear from them is Sun saying a sweet "Thank you" to Cassie for saving him.
    • Despite being established as universally reviled by children, parents, and even other animatronics, Cassie seems to have fond memories of Sun and Moon, judging by the descriptions given to their AR plushies. It's small, but touching to know that they at least had somebody who liked them both.
Sun Plush: I used to have so much fun in the daycare.
Moon Plush: I never slept better than I did in the daycare.
  • Bonnie's green room (or what's left over from it) indicates that he and Freddy were incredibly close friends; all of the merchandise present is of the bear, including a signed poster that says "YOU & ME FOREVER & EVER — LOVE FREDDY".
  • While it's just a few cut-outs for the Monty Golf ride, the story it tells implies that Glamrock Bonnie retired and passed the role of bassist to Monty, who was just an anthropomorphic alligator at the time. The remaining cutouts show the different characters helping dress Monty up into his glamrock appearance. Sure, Bonnie's real fate is not that simple, but the Pizzaplex's official explanation is very sweet.
  • During Chapter 4, after luring Glamrock Chica away, Cassie can sneak into her room, where a functioning arcade cabinet for Chica's Feeding Frenzy resides. Fully completing the minigame allows Cassie to obtain Glamrock Chica's voice box, and after the latter decides to rest in a nearby bathroom, Cassie can return the voice box to its former owner, which also removes the trash bag lodged in her chassis. It's not much, but it's nice to at least have things be a little better for the robotic chicken; and if you do just that, Chica will leave you alone and no longer be among the dangerous animatronics that the M.X.E.S. can summon.
  • One of the AR cutouts in Chapter 5 show Gregory and Cassie together, the former sticking with her when it looks like she's been through a rough patch. This most likely cements that they are indeed close companions.
  • Towards the end of the game, Cassie comes across Roxy, who's trapped underneath a forklift. It turns out Roxy remembers Cassie from a previous birthday party they had together, and they have a heart-to-heart as Cassie kneels down next to Roxy and holds her paw. It makes the next event just as much of a Tear Jerker as Cassie is given no option but to shut Roxy down in order to disable her Security Node and progress.
Roxy: Cassie? Cassie... welcome back, Cassie.
    Cassie: You remember me?
Roxy: Your special day... I remember your special day. Do you still like carrot cake? It has been some time since I saw you last. If I remember correctly, it is on the 11th. I remember because you are number one — twice! Have you booked your party? I'm sure your friends will show up this time.
    Roxy-Talky: A walkie-talkie of my favorite character.
AR Glam Roxy Plush: To add to my collection.
