Heartwarming / Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise

  • In the first sequence following the fight with Shin, Kenshiro meets a girl named Ruka and her grandfather, who tell him about Eden and where to find it, as well as the rumor that wishes can be granted there. As Ken prepares to leave, Ruka asks him to fulfill her wish if he finds Eden—that she can get all the apples she can eat. Well, the very final shot of the post-credits scenes shows Ken and Yuria driving through the wasteland...and they're en route to make a delivery of a crate of apples. Even after all this time, Ken hasn't forgotten the promise he made to the little girl.
  • One series of substories has Kenshiro meet a little boy, Minato, who confides that he used to play games with his father often, but ever since the father died, the kid hasn't had anyone to play with anymore. The quest involves Ken agreeing to play hide and seek with Minato, who thereafter calls him "big bro." It's just one more example of how Ken, who we all know is capable of making mooks' heads explode, can be a real softie when it comes to children.
    • During the third quest in the series, Minato goes off to find yet another hiding spot for his regular game of hide and seek with Ken, only to run afoul of some thugs who threaten to use him in order to shake his mother down for money. Cue Ken showing up, and when the thugs demand to know who he is, his response manages to be both heartwarming and a declaration of the inevitable ass-kicking: "I'm 'it'" (in reference to him being the one looking for Minato during their games).
  • The substory "Something Behind Her Smile" has Liz, one of the nightclub hostesses, befriending a little orphan girl named Sarah...who unfortunately has an Evil Uncle who plans to sell her as a slave. Naturally, Kenshiro makes the bad guys go boom...and Liz decides that, since Sarah's now all alone in the world, she'll adopt the child so they can make each other happy. Liz's only concern is whether Sarah will agree to it, since they're not even related...but Sarah's bright smile is all the answer Liz needs.
    Kenshiro: ...what a great smile.
