Heartwarming / FairyTale: A True Story

• Frances's first scene is her sitting beside a wounded soldier on the train, ignoring his rather gruesome injuries and casually playing Cat's Cradle with him. The soldier later shows up to chase away a man harassing the two girls, thanking her for treating him kindly. Frances happily calls him "my corporal".
• Polly and Arthur's speech about remembering Joseph. It's one of the few times we see them really bonding as husband and wife.
• The fairies returning to the girls' room at the very end. The queen even bows to Elsie. And then Arthur and Polly get to see one. Polly's reaction isn't one of surprise - but joy and she can only laugh at Arthur's dumbfounded reaction.
• To say nothing of Frances being reunited with her father, who was thought lost in the war.
