Heartwarming / Dragon Tales

Go To

General

  • Every time our heroes find themselves in a situation where they are stuck, trapped or in a dire situation, not once do Emmy or Max ever use the chant to wish themselves back to the nurserynote . Why? Because they only use it so long as their friends aren't in a dire situation. That tells you they have unwavering loyalty for their dragon friends to stick with them until the problem is solved.

Season One

  • The pilot reveals that a dragon was lonely. So she took scales from her body and sent them to Earth, with instructions on how to reach dragon land. According to Quetzal, she was successful and we see her dancing with several kids.
  • Quetzal gives Ord a quest to get a star seed from a dark forest. Ord is scared of the dark, however, and even the thought drives him to tears. With his friends' help, however, and the dragon's ability to breathe fire, he succeeds. Quetzal then helps him take the star seed to a cliff at nighttime; the star seed flies into the sky and becomes a star. Max and Emmy see it on Earth and recognize it must be Ord's.
  • "Goodbye, Little Caterpoozle": At first it seems to be a Tear Jerker when the group thinks that Poozie died while Cassie was playing on the mushrooms, and they host a funeral for her. When they find another caterpoozle, however, Quetzal realizes what must have happened. He takes them to Poozie's "grave" and shows that the white stuff is a cocoon. She was transforming into a butterfairy. Poozie flies over and caresses Cassie, as the group wishes her goodbye.
  • "It Happened One Nightmare": Ord is having trouble sleeping because he has a recurring nightmare about a monster chasing him. As a result, he kept the dragons up the night before at his sleepover, causing them to fall asleep during a carnival. At first, his friends try to help him sleep comfortably, but it doesn't work because the nightmare returns. Emmy suggests maybe they act out the dream and see if it helps Ord feel better. They dress up as the monster, but Ord instead of screaming starts laughing. He says that they look so silly, and they have to remind him to run. As a result, he says he's no longer scared of the dream, and goes back to sleep.
  • In the Talent Pool episode, the titular pool is capable of giving anyone a talent, which is a godsend to anyone of low self-worth who feels useless. However, by the time Cassie comes looking for a talent, the pool has gotten so fed up with everyone just begging her for talents and never sticking around that the Talent Pool refuses to give Cassie a talent unless she makes the pool laugh. The pool, you see, hasn't laughed in 387 years. All of our heroes' attempts to make the pool laugh fail miserably...then Cassie finally asks just why the pool hasn't laughed for so long. Upon learning it's because the pool is lonely, Cassie promises to be the pool's friend and to sometimes come by to play a little and talk a little, and that finally makes the pool laugh—out of sheer joy! For bonus heartwarming points, since Cassie succeeded in making the pool laugh, it finally agrees to give Cassie a talent—which Cassie turns down, because Cassie has just discovered she already has a talent, "being a good helper." She decides to become stage manager at the talent show.
  • In "A Liking to Biking," Max lends his bike to Ord without hesitation, knowing that Ord will likely crush it. Fortunately, Quetzal is able to fix it.

Season Two

  • "The Art of Patience": Zak's and Wheezie's favorite colors are each revealed to be the other one's color.
