  • As over-the-top as some of his scenes are, Kong's speech to his men as they embark on their mission is fairly heartwarming, especially since they were a fully-integrated crew (with James Earl Jones being the sole black crewman) and it was clear they trusted each other.
    • If you just isolated the clips of Kong and his crewmen, it'd work really well in a war-time drama, even with Pickens' Large Ham performance. They're all just a bunch of trained professionals doing their duty for their country. But that's not the kind of movie we're in.
