Heartwarming / Brewster's Millions (1985)

Go To

  • When Charlie Pegler made the tough call to take Brewster off the field after a Grand Slam Home Run from the New York Yankees, Spike consoles his friend that the Grand Slam was only lucky, while Charlie tells Brewster that he did a good job for the Hackensack Bulls. And as Brewster was walking off the field, his team and the whole crowd clapped for him as a sign of respect. Given what Brewster did for the team in the short amount of time he had, who could blame them?
  • Through it all, Spike remained a loyal best friend to Brewster. He's genuinely concerned when Monty starts spending frivolously and has no time for the hanger-on's who are taking advantage of him. When he himself becomes wealthy due to making sound investments with the salary Monty pays him, he doesn't even think twice to offer to give it all back to Brewster to help him out when he goes broke.
  • Monty's employees also start a collection plate to help him out.
  • While Angela doesn't get together with Monty, she still remains loyal to him, stepping in when she sees the lawyers are about to defraud him.
